Just ordered a new system with 2080 super, and 10700K would 60fps be a deal killer for me?
This monitor would be just right on mid high-tier settings on modern games good graphics games. Running 4k max settings at 60 fps was hard to obtain on 2080 I used to have on games like Ghost Recon Breakpoint. This runs true for modern hi-graphics games. In the competitive FPS/moba game market, you can easily get above 60 fps on 4k with that setup.

I don't play competitive games, so I don't care about over 60hz monitors.

Does NOBODY sell a 27/28 inch VA one? I think 32 will be too big because I have to get right up at a monitor, regardless of size, due to a vision issue. So then I'd be moving my head all over the place to read some of the screen.

Also I assume b&h won't let you return it? I know they don't let you return tvs.
It will be a very big debate and you can search on Reddit. In short most people playing game prefer 24-27 inch since they sit pretty close. All my gamers friend use monitor and not Tv on couch. Most video editors and productivity application needs 43 inch since they need 3 screens. This productivity rig is usually powered by different machines and not a single input source. You may use 34 inch for dual split but then curved monitor makes little strange. What I mean to say is I personally do not like Samsung curves if it's less than 40.

So you are very correct that 27 to 40 is an area which is odd for viewing distance.

LG official website didn't specify any vesa hole specification for this model. It happened to be the deal breaker for me.

I bought this exact monitor at Best Buy a couple weeks ago for the same price. Decent deal but the VA panel really bothered me so I ended up returning it for a 28" Samsung IPS monitor for the same price.

Edit: the one I got was a different model number but specs and photos seem the same: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-3...Id=6051028

What bothered you about it? I'm leaning towards a VA for better contrast ratio.

Is the 60hz a problem for gaming? I'm not real sure what I should be looking for here. I have a PC with AMD Ryzen 7 I believe, but right now it's just hooked up to a tv on the wall. I imagine if I had a monitor I would use it more often.

I'd also like to get into photo editing, but figure any modern monitor is fine for me, a hobbyist that takes pictures when I travel.

Size seems good for me, price seems good for me, am I missing anything?
It won't be a problem, but there is a noticeable difference between 60Hz and 120Hz displays. Even on the desktop.

I know that's supposed to be an advantage with VA panels but I found the contrast ratio very poor. And viewing angles are a problem on a monitor this size (when sitting close, which you will be doing)

I returned the LG and got the Samsung UR55. Not amazing but I'm happy with it.

There are not hardly any 144hz 4k monitors.
This satire as well? Gamers competitively don't game in 4k, they're using 1080p or 1440p for high frame rates.
