Update: also 5% off if you get over $999 (so $50+ off). Use code: FOURTH.

Cyberpower has their 4th of July Sale, bringing the Tracer III EVO (the same as Eluktronic's Mag 15) down to $899 and also includes two free games: Jedi Fallen Order and Total War Three Kingdoms and a free mouse pad. This price was a FP last month. It will show as $999 but scroll down and select the $100 July 4 coupon (and don't forget to select your free games). The 200 is also $100 off, which gives you a 512GB SSD and 16GB ram at base. You can also add a free mousepad and mouse, and take 5% off if you get over $1000.

For those that don't know: this is a premium, Intel-designed laptop with better thermals and build quality than most other laptops. You can get slightly better specs in the other brands such as EVOO 17 or Eluktronics Red Pill, but this has the better battery life and thermals. No one is better than the other; they have different use cases. For easy comparison's sake, the comparison to this laptop is the Razer Blade, rather than the Helios 300 or similar laptops. This is an extremely high quality laptop and you can read some of the discussion here in the prior deal: https://slickdeals.net/f/14101412-tracer-iii-evo-15-100-mag-15-899?v=1&page=2

The other big benefit to this deal is it is extremely customizable. You can add 8gb ram for about $80 and an additional 256gb SSD for $50 or even get a 1tb SSD for about $120 more. You choose exactly what you want and don't want here. You can also add a cyberpower KB + mouse for $11.

If you do buy this, grab your drivers from Eluktronics to make your life easier.

I think this deal was posted a few weeks ago, but I noticed that this laptop is back in stock at the $899 price.

Yes, it only has 8GB of RAM and a 256GB m.2 SSD (you can upgrade to NVMe for $5). But let me explain why this is still a killer deal (I bought it the last time it was in stock and can happily answer questions about it).

To preface, this is using the same chassis as the MAG 15, the Intel-branded laptop that a lot of YouTubers went crazy about upon its release (BOAT, Dave2D, OWNOrDISOWN) I have owned ALL of the laptops I discuss below (3 iterations of the Blade, 2 iterations of the Aero, and 1 iteration of the GS65)

More detailed specs that readers might initially miss:

· 94WHr Battery (ties with Aero 15, beats Razer Blade 15 and MSI GS65)

· TWO m.2 NVMe slots (ties with Aero 15 and MSI GS65, beats Razer Blade 15)

· 144Hz 1080p IPS panel (pretty much same panel as all the other 144Hz displays)

· Mechanical Keyboard with per-key RGB lighting (I actually really like this KB, but YMMV)

· 4.15 lbs., which is lighter than all of the competition other than the notoriously-flimsy GS65

I repasted this with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut and undervolted the CPU and GPU. Load temperatures are 65-75C for most games with its default fan curve. CPU-only loads (where its allowed to pull 60W) usually have it peak around 72-73C (i.e. CB R20) after one run.

This CyberPower unit comes with an ugly decal/logo on the top of the laptop, which I removed with a hair-dryer and then some 99% isopropyl alcohol for the leftover residue quite easily. It is now an entirely muted, brandless black laptop.

Back to the specs, though. You can snag another 8GB DDR4 2666MHz SODIMM for $32, making it 16GB total. Further, you can purchase a 1TB NVMe from Amazon for about $119 to 129, making the final cost $899 (no tax unless in CA, I believe) + $32 for RAM + $120 for SSD = $1,052 for an absolute UNIT of a laptop. The 1660Ti trades blows with the RTX 2060 (sans RTX on), where the other brands charge around $1599 all the way to $1999 (Razer) for a similar spec'd laptop.

Oh, and FYI, you can use drivers and software from Eluktronics or other rebranders of the laptop, so no need to bother with CyberPower's awful driver support page.

Perfect summary of the benefits! This is nearly the same deal as a month ago, but within I think like a day the price rose $100 again back to $999. This deal will only be available today because it is the special July 4 pricing.

And you can get a 1tb SSD for about $120 on this deal, saving yourself the hassle of purchasing and installing. On the other hand, upgrading to 16gb RAM here is $80, so you can save some money buying and installing yourself.

Link doesn't work. I'm guessing it's suppose to be this? https://www.cyberpowerpc.com/syst...EVO-15-100

If you customize there is an "extra instant rebate" that can be added to take off $100.

Still the deal to beat: https://slickdeals.net/f/13820222-evoo-gaming-laptop-17-2060-9750-1tb-nvme-999?src=SiteSearch (Jan 2020)

But you're updated config for $1057 is pretty close (although still 15" vs 17", so not quite apples-to-apples).

There's also a 5% off code if you get over $999: 5% Instant Off for Order Over $999. For my $1057 config, I saved about $54 bringing it down to $1,004.

Would THIS [walmart.com] basically be the same machine?

I think it's the same chassis as the MAG-15, and specs are very close. $949 and get 3YR warranty for $88 and free next day delivery.

Here's what someone said in the other thread about that model you linked:

"Walmarts version(still a Tongfang even though it is branded Evoo) may be plastic instead of the magnesium alloy frame that the mag 15 uses but it is still the same guts." The OPlaptop has a better screen, thermals, battery and build quality. Also the walmart one doesn't have NVME SSD.

Here's a great review of the laptop in OP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7I9OuOmXZY

I bought a Tracer 15 model from this company back in 2016, Black Friday sale. The laptop is still going strong after 3.5 years! The only complaint I have is the battery life only lasts a few hours now. But the performance hasn't decreased, as much as I can tell.

For reference, it's an i7 with 8gb ram, 512 HD, 126 SSD, and a Nvidia GTX gpu
