Though this is good if they have a part in stock and you need it TODAY, if you are planning a job or it's just maintenance and you can wait a few days for shipping; Rock Auto is significantly cheaper.

For example, I replaced my entire set of front pads & rotors with mid-tier parts for less than the cost of one of the cheapest rotors alone that the local store had. I ordered on a Sunday and received the parts Tuesday.

Bad experience with Rock Auto. Their part checker showed brake rotors and pads matching my car and then they wanted to stick me with the cost for the return. Never again. Fortunately Amazon part checker was correct with fast shipping.

I've put in many orders at Rock Auto, and they're my go to when I don't want to go oem. Never had a bad experience, core returns and normal returns, all good. If your buying cheap parts for things you shouldn't, then that's a lesson learned, but if you don't need it today, and quaility wise are the same, can't beat ra's price.

This is a good chance to get the wear and tear items that virtually every car needs: wiper fluid, transmission fluid, coolant, wipers, car wash soap/wax/etc, and so forth.

Don't skip 20% off just because you don't need an alternator right now Smilie

Their cs isn't great but in the countless times I've used them never a real issue. I can't imagine working on vehicles and not using rock Auto these days. Don't forget to google a 5% coupon too. Amazon is usually a little higher price, but I always check there too after part lookup on rock

You really need to know your car and read closely at Rock Auto. They list a lot of parts for a model of car that will fit other variations of a model but not all variations of the model. The net of it is do your research on the parts and understand your car before ordering, especially from Rock Auto. I have always had a good experience from them for the 6 or so times I have ordered.

This 20%, which they run very often, isn't useful for anyone that needs a part today. It also excludes sale priced items and batteries. Most of the conditions are pasted below.

Valid for online ship-to-home orders. Offer does not apply to purchase of batteries; overweight items such as engines and transmissions; oversized items such as large car top carriers; performance carburetors such as Edelbrock, Holley and Proform; any Magnaflow, Airaid, Air Lift, Covercraft, Extang, MSD and Husky items; items not available for ship to home delivery. Offers valid on regular priced merchandise only and do not include any other discounts or special offers. Online deals issued by AutoZone are only valid for Ship to Home orders placed on AutoZone.com by the expiration date.

AZ sucks, price mark up is ridiculous, Rock auto is the only parts store I use.

I also love RockAuto. Two weeks ago, I bought most of my belts and replacement idlers/tensioner from them. One idler pulled didn't quite right because of the way the bracket on the car. I sent them a return request and a detailed explanation. As a work around, I ordered an AC Delco OEM one from Amazon, because I needed it faster than RA usually can ship it.

The next day, they sent me an email saying to keep the part and credit me $15 for it.

Impressed, I sent them a Thank You email. Within an hour, the replied with another 5% off code for future use.

Moral of the story: If you can stack several items so that the savings balances out the small shipping charge, it can be advantageous to buy from RA.

I've seen Amazon, Rock Auto, Auto Zone, Advance and O'Reilly all have Bad info in their fitment charts. I go directly to the Manufacturer's website (like Centic, Brembo or Bosch) see what part number they list for my car, then start cross-checking from there.

I'm going to need that part number anyway, to google it and make sure I'm getting the best price.

You can't use this code to pickup something In-Store TODAY. It's for shipped orders only.

I truly do not see any hype over this deal. AutoZone are constantly more expensive than Advance Auto Parts, who typically have 30-40% coupons readily available online. I've used the coupon codes on batteries, parts, and just about everything else except motor oil. Haven't gone to AZ for anything unless Advance doesn't carry it.

They sent me the wrong part once as well. I needed the left side and they sent me the right. Part number and all indicated this. I didn't have any issues getting a replacement sent out. They did not want the incorrect order returned.
