Single hose again? What happened to dual hose which is more efficient?

FYI this is not really 12,000 BTU. I couldn't find the DOE SACC BTU rating, but its likely 7000 to 8000 BTUs when measured with this more realistic and accurate method.

Just a heads up, this thing tripped the breaker in two separate spots of the house which I have never had any problems with before or after this unit. Both spots I even tried unplugging everything else and just ran this and it still tripped the breaker within 15 or so minutes. I've used 2-3 other portable ac's in both spots heavily in the last few summers and never once had an issue and no issues currently either using a different unit after returning this one.

If you look at reviews you'll notice other people mentioning this and the walmart i took it back to (which was the last place i wanted to take anything back) told me they had a couple other people return it for the exact same reason.

It likely tripped the breaker on a 15amp circuit breaker which isn't all that uncommon. Especially if it is a gfci or the crappy arc fault breakers.

I bought one of these from Amazon in March for $315 + tax shipped with a promo code. It's been working great. No issues with tripping breakers and it cools down my son's (hot upstairs) 250 sqft bedroom fairly quick. The app is real handy and I tested the noise db it's rated at with a db app (not sure how accurate this is) and it was within advertised db. One con we've had with the app is a bug with the timer with certain time ranges but not a deal breaker for us. The timer with the remote works fine.

Not bad. A little loud but everything works with Alexa and doesn't trip breakers. You need to know what your doing to connect to Alexa.

90F+ NO GO

If you have a lot of days in the 90's, DO NOT GET THIS. Or any single house. It will not work right, you will think it's rubbish and want to return it. You are being warned now that you will need a dual hose unit that can handle dealing with high outdoor temps. When it gets cool, you easily convert them to single hose (make sure your unit has this function, most do but not all).

I call this the dirty (cheap) switch syndrome. Had a lot of small fans I used in the bathroom caused the same problem every time I turned the fan off. Tripped the GFCI breaker. Threw all of them away.
