I have been mainly on Nvidia cards for about 15 years now. After getting the 2060 KO and not getting good 1440p60fps results I looked for better for the price. I snagged a PowerColor non Red Dragon/Red Devil 2 fan 5700 XT.

I am very impressed with AMDs drivers for once. The 5700 XT if 2-3 fans is a solid card at 1440p60fps+. Unless you have to have Raytracing right now.

Quality 5 heat pipes solution and functional metal back plate edge to edge with thermal pads in place. Quiet fans at lower speeds and keeps it reasonably cool in open air. However in my itx H1 case I need to push the fan speed higher and it becomes equally or more noisy than cards with two bigger fans. Likely not an issue if you have a good air flow case. Its 5600xt brother is currently 100 cheaper just FYI.
$100 with two less heat pipes like you pointed out in the other thread. I haven't had any heat issues with mine after long benchmark though. The games I play, Civ 6 and other strategy games all play on ultra at 4k. Smooth as butter with 5600xt OC

I'm not super familiar with AMD GPUS. What does this compare to Nvidia wise?
its slightly slower than the GTX 1080ti but a used GTX 1080ti on ebay now is minimum ~$420-$500. for price to performance, this beats the nvidia.

From my research:

For straight up gaming, 2070 Super is somewhere around 10% better. For non-gaming applications or multiple processes (ie gaming and streaming at same time) the 5700xt is better. 5700xt also doesn't murder your psu

Out of box, I read 5700xt is pushing max output but OCing 2070 super can push it up even more

gigabyte customer service is plain horrible. they are in-line with pny's horrible customer service.

I have a gigabyte geforce gtx 1650 super oc edition that makes a super annoying buzzing noise on load. I called in and left my number for a call back between 2-4 pm pst and got no call 2 times a month apart. Twice I called in and finally got someone and the woman that answered (heavy accent from china) was the rudest person I have ever spoken to in my entire life. She could get away with it because she is working out of her home and had me on speakerphone. She does not let you speak, always speaking over you.

If they were to replace the video card, I would have to send it in and wait instead of doing a cross ship method.

Do yourselves a favor, stay away

Dang really tempted here but still too many horror stories of bad drivers crashing, and with new Ampere/big navi right around the corner...

Don't forget the discover/paypal 5% can if you bite on this!

While I think this price is getting pretty close to standard, its pretty much impossible to recommend any other card. Definitely still a good deal. If I needed a card atm this is what id buy.

it's not better than 2070 super in terms of performance on average. it should be pretty close to 2070 (non-super). however, there are games where the 5700xt actually does perform better.
2070 Super > 5700 XT > 2070 regular

the 5700xt is undoubtedly a much better value. the performance gain on 2070 super doesn't justify the price difference (coming from the owner of a 2070 super).

if you're 1080p-1440p gaming, 5700xt is great. if you're gaming 1440p+ (ultrawide or 4k), then 2070 super should sort of be the minimum.
Great advice there. This is the general area of the hardware choices where people really need to consider the resolution and refresh rate they are looking at achieving comfortably.

I've been debating for about a week now whether to add this card or the 2060 super on my new build (can't afford the 2070 super). I can get them for about the same price. I will be doing a mix of gaming and AutoCad modeling. Any opinions?

I'm trying to get the card that is more future proof, Plus from what I see, the 2060 can be OC'd more to close it's gap between the 5700 xt. Thanks

my 3900x builds are monsters! I have yet to crank my cpu past 55% or so and even that was a peak. The most I've sustained the cpu was 40% in need for speed heat. Usually it is between 1-2%! I bought the bequiet darkrock pro. Keeps the cpus ultra cool and quiet!

Autocad would benefit from CUDA cores hardware acceleration, NVIDIA.

I bought this card a month ago after 3 weeks the card died. Luckily it was within the 30day of warranty and got my money back.
