it's not better than 2070 super in terms of performance on average. it should be pretty close to 2070 (non-super). however, there are games where the 5700xt actually does perform better.

the 5700xt is undoubtedly a much better value. the performance gain on 2070 super doesn't justify the price difference (coming from the owner of a 2070 super).

if you're 1080p-1440p gaming, 5700xt is great. if you're gaming 1440p+ (ultrawide or 4k), then 2070 super should sort of be the minimum.
I was able to grab a 2070 super for $400 off of someone but if I didn't find that deal, I would likely be using a 5700XT right now. Great value.

Is there any reason to wait on upgrading my Sapphire Radeon Nitro+ RX 590 with this? I am not in a hurry and I heard new cards are coming out.
Ditto
Currently running dual 43" Vizio at 4K with a RX560 and have actually seen it run out of video ram resulting in black screen if I run too many video on them at same time Frown

If you're on 1080p then nah, keep on the 590. I have that exact card in the PC I just have my son. He's rocking 1080p 144Hz at 300fps in some games with the ryzen 3600

Very nice card that I've been using since last year.

I am running 2000 MHz at 1051 mV (100 percent loads at around 160 W) and 1900 MHz on Memory. Very cool and very quiet (don't know if it's just luck or Gigabyte really hand picked the chip)

Highly recommending if you are into under-volting.

I have a i7-2600K, lol. I imagine anything would be an improvement at this point; although, I'm considering the 3900X or the i9-9900K.
I woulda kinda go with the 3600 if u want something now bang for buck, otherwise if you're gonna dish out top dollar for a cpu then wait for ryzen 4000 released in Sept.

Pair it with a nice b550 or x570 board, or even go for a cheaper b450 once it's manufacture updates for 4000

FWIW, NewEgg currently has this same card listed on their web site for $389.99 - $15 using 93XPM28 code, if you didn't want to go through eBay. Looking at the reviews though, the card looks fairly sketchy. I know there were a lot of issues with display drivers and the 5700XT early on, but even recent reviews for this card don't look that great. It kinda makes me wonder if it's a bit of a dog? They also have an XFX model for $379.99 that just went out of stock today, but has much better reviews. IMO the extra $10 is worth the piece of mind.

What the... are you me? I have the exact same setup lol.
i7 2600k w/Sapphire HD6970

For me, I really have no need to make any upgrade for my use. Though I might do one last GPU upgrade but only if there's a super hot price mistake deal or something.

If 2 graphics card were the same and it came down to AMD vs NVIDIA. Which is better and why? All I know is that AMD is compatible with a lot more monitors when it comes to freesync and also cheaper, meanwhile NVIDIA seems more reliable software wise maybe? Is there anything else to it?

Grain of Salt, meet end of value cycle.. with about 4 months left on this cycle who wants older technology and the cost depreciation value vs next gen? Should you have buyers remorse, selling will take more loss to dump the card.. best to buy from a retailer that will pay return shipping if your not satisfied.. gpus are the new fake flash media.. quality ymmv by miles...

It's this easy. 5600xt for 1080p. 5700xt for 1440p. You should be happy for 5 years. At that point you will probably have a $180 loss on the 5700xt and $140 loss on a 5600xt. The secondary markets in GPUs are very strong. I just sold a 1060 with 3gb for $100! I bought this 5700xt and I expect to get around $140 for a 580 with 8gb that I only paid $240 almost 2 years ago!

I have a msi 5600xt I am moving to my 1080p computer and the drivers are rock solid. And the card runs very quiet and cool (especially compared to the 580).

And finally the reviews on this gigabyte 5700xt are VERY GOOD. It's considered the best value card edging out the sapphire pulse by a slim margin. But those are the top two value 5700xt cards.

Sadly there seems to be almost no reason to go with Intel at the moment, and I love Intel processors. I'm waiting to see what the 4000 series Ryzen processors bring about and I will likely be upgrading to a higher end one of those.

I bought this a couple of months ago when the same deal came up and had issues with the newest drivers/software (random lockups, 2nd display acting showing static, etc). I ended up uninstalling with DDU and installing the drivers only via device manager.

It's been working without issue since. Running on a B550 MB with a 3700x

You can always wait for better deals. Everyone's crystal ball is off due to the pandemic. You might save 10% on a GPU in 3-4 months. Up to you if it's worth.

I assume for people who plan to build PC from scratch it is better to wait few month and see if anything new in the same price range is release, right?
