rumor is mint sims from best buy expire on the date on the package, and not 45days from purchase like sims bought directly from mint.

3gigs @ $8/month is a pretty good deal.
a slick deal was last year's 12gig @ $10/month. hoping for best buy to repeat that deal

Usually they need to be activated within 45 days of purchase. not sure that's true with cards bought retail from Best Buy though-do they track the card number and when it was sold?

Thanks for the info. That would be great, will have to wait until best buy reps can confirm before I bite though

Mint is great. Been with them for years. They also have a nice referral program... 5 friends and you get 1 free year of service.

Under my family plan I'm paying $25 a month for 2GB only. Sad....

I tried one of the willie nillie free three month plans that mint was just giving away. I found the service subpar compared to parent company T-Mobile service. Same conditions, next to each other, mint was not loading websites. But T-Mobile was and it was repeatable too at different locations.

I want to switch everyone to a cheaper plan.

Just left Mint after 15 months. Though lots of nice features, GSM support in my area is very limited (coastal SW Florida). Mint did switch me to Voice over WiFi for the past 3 mos, which improved home reception. However, data and voice dropouts in my neighborhood, stores, and the 5-mile radius I traveled during this pandemic became intolerable. When switching, the Mint agent told me they use the Sprint network, which may be more metropolitan based. Shifted to RedPocket CDMA on my 6s, and even at home I am getting at least 2 bars solid, and it discloses Verizon network. I left RedPocket 15 mos ago because they did not support MMS on their GSM plan. FWIW, Mint customer service was great, and I could always get someone on the phone in a minute or two. On the other hand, I had to wait on hold for nearly 10 mins yesterday to reach a RedPocket CSR to help fine-tune my new account. Hope this is helpful.

Does anyone know what the return policy is on these? Would like to buy more than one to use one after the other but wouldn't risk it if you get them and they can't be returned if once received you see they will expire.

So this is for new customers only? Existing customers can't add this to current plan?
