Watch reviews before buying, all of them that I saw said "don't buy", since you only get a few percent performance gain for double digit percent price increase. Most games were like 0-2 fps more on a 3900XT
Watched a bunch of videos this morning after paying $400 for my 3900x last week. Not worth it. You pay MSRP, there is no cooler included, and are only looking at a few percent gains (and some inconsistent performance with msi mobo bios updates as of now). Roughly $170+ increase depending on what cpu cooler / fan you buy

they dropped price so much on 3700x and 3900x you can literally get 2-4 more cores for similar price.
B450 boards are compatible, assuming they have a recent BIOS update. Microcenter should be able to help with this. The 3600XT is not part of AMD's Equipped to Win promotion giving a free copy of Assassin's Creed: Valhalla though. If you value that game at $60, the 3700x is actually less expensive, assuming motherboard combos.
Additionally, at least the Micro Center near me, you shouldn't assume that the only stock they have is on their website. Our store is relatively barren on the web, but going there in person had a large variety of boards. Sadly, the website is just not up to date with the demand.

I don't know if B450 boards are compatible. A 3600XT would be $60 more than 3600 and $40 less than 3700x if you account for the $30 combo difference.

I didn't know about the free game when I built my 3600 last week. Would've went with a B450 board vs X570 and get the 3700x instead of 3600. I'm still happy with the 3600 for my plex server and Autocad/Revit work. After I saw the lines for checkout, I would recommend order online for pickup at Microcenter. The pickup line only had 4 people and the regular checkout had at least 30.

The lines are longer on the weekends, even for pickup with the location I've visited, definitely avoid going then if possible.
