Had been keeping an eye on the Friends store of TEMPUR-PEDIC and found a decent deal that may be of interest to those who want a TEMPUR-PEDIC mattress. Sizes are limited.

CA King (Soft OR Firm) - $800 OOS
Twin Long - Soft - $550
Twin Long - Firm - $525
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

The mattress is heat sensitive so seems like the longer you're on it the softer it gets. I have the firmest one that they offer and it's nowhere close to a firm spring mattress.
Ive been using the costco one over 10 years still firm as first day i got it. My friend got a top of the line temper pedic that was like almost $2000. Was soft as hell, but only lasted him barely 5 years and the middle had an huge indentation. He under 200 lbs.

Costco sells their own tempurpedic? Or do you mean they sell the tempurpedic brand? I bought mine from a mattress store...for $2000 too...chose the firmest option and experiencing the same as your friend. I'm also under 200lbs.

Anyone know why the link in the OP details goes to friends.tempurpedic.com but when you go to the tempurpedic.com I can't even find the Tempur-Pedic Essential line of mattresses?

Usually the friends and family site deal with close outs for older generation mattresses. These specifically were sold at warehouses I think like Costco.

I was seriously considering this as well but decided against it. Although tempur is generally known to use good quality foam, I've read that it can run hot. I've also read that while the firm seem to hold up well, the soft version does not seem to hold up very well. The final nail in the coffin was the final sale condition.

This is 10in, seriously rather not buy. Your main bed I recommend at least 12in thickness.
Bigger isn't always better. 10" is the optimum thickness for urethane memory foam mattress.

In mattress world, thicker is most likely always better, or all brands wouldn't sell thicker mattress for more. Unless you are on the small side, which makes little difference. Americans are heavier than the average, that's why the thicker is better.
