I just purchased a 2-pack myself and it surprised me to see the 40% off coupon!

I bought these back in March of this year. I'm happy with them. Battery seem to last awhile and I almost always use it on the highest brightness. I didn't know about the red light until I saw this post. Lastly these stay on my head well and the angle of the tilt is appropriate. These were under $4 then.

I used the red light during fireworks for July 4th, came super handy as you can see just enough and not blind everyone

3xAAA battery kills it for me. Please use AA, holds 3 times more power

True but it would make it a decent bit heavier.

It's 1.83oz without batteries and 3oz with 3 AAA so the batteries are doubling the weight as it is.

Wasn't there a bunch of people in a previous headlamp deal post jumping up and down making a giant fuss complaining about the ones that don't have the third strap going over the top of your head being no good?
Legitimate point, or just the usual crowd looking to nitpick every detail on any product?

Personal preference I think. I almost always use a head lamp with a hat on. A third strap makes that difficult.

I needed new headlamps. My old ones had the 3rd strap but I'll go ahead and give these a shot. Thanks.

I recommend spending a few extra bucks and getting USB rechargeable headlamps. Much less hassle than AAA-battery operated headlamps.
