I think Bed Bath and Beyond has a better deal on Nespresso® by Breville® VertuoPlus Deluxe Coffee and Espresso Maker Bundle in Titanium.

Got it for $99 + tax and free shipping, total $106.99.

You just need to put your e-mail when 20% off pop up comes up and it adds the coupon to cart automatically.

I'm on the fence of getting this, with all the leaking reviews.

Like others have said, the older, simpler models have been nearly flawless. I have a 9 year old Pixie and it's a rock star. I rarely descale it (feeling the shame).

Last Black Friday, I picked up several of these as presents, all for less than $100. One came with pods and I needed to return the machine (for a different model). Amazon told me to keep the pods as they couldn't be returned, FYI (free bonus).

With office use decimated, I think inventory build up is going to lead to more liquidation sales. On the flip side, I'm sure Nespresso's partners are making near zero new machines. So like the RE market, pricing may eventually stabilize if supply plummets. That said, I refuse to upgrade to the new line (generic capsules for the Original are a game changer) and have no need for a new machine as an espresso-only drinker.

Most of the reviews with leaking were withing first few months of purchase so I'm assuming the machine had to be defective from the get go. There's 1-year manufacturer warranty included so I'm not too worried at this price point.

I've had 3 nespresso machines and they always end up getting clogged often. Do you have better experience in higher-priced nespresso machines like the Latissimna?
I've had my Pixie for five years and never experienced a clog. Have you descaled them regularly?

Thanks so much for the tip. We'll avoid the tap water. How often do you use a descaling solution?
If your tap water is hard then a normal filter (like pur/brita) isn't going to change that. There are more expensive filters like zerowater that actually can pull out minerals and others that act like a mini water softener. The cost depends on the hardness of your water. Where I live, those filters get used up so fast that it's actually cheaper to buy bottled purified water instead of filtering at home.

Regardless, descaling should solve the problem. Just wanted to chime in in case you were about to go out and buy a brita pitcher or something. (The filters can take out bad flavors/odors that might change how your coffee tastes, so it's not as if they're totally useless.)

What is the extra maintenance on the virtuoline?
It's the cost of coffee pods, that's what I was referring to cost. Virtuoline doesn't have generic pods, they are almost all Nespresso only. So they are quite expensive compared to the original line pods. It's about 3x as much. The Virtuoline pods are about $1.10 avg per pod, whereas the original line generics are around $0.30 to $0.40 per pod. And if you're a frequent SD visitor you'll find better deals than that. One time, I grabbed some Lavazza pods for around $0.23 I believe.

That's really odd. I have a Pixie at home and one at work that get used a lot. Never had an issue with clogging. Due you descale the machines?

But still good prices for anyone who want to purchase a machine now.

Three suspected reasons for clogging:
1) I don't descale the machines often. How often should this be done?
2) I use non-Nespresso pods I bought from Europe.
3) Maybe my machines are low-end -- Essenza and Citiz
It might be the pods problem. I have clogging issues with some pods I bought from Europe. The problems disappeared when I changed to another brand.

I've been eyeing a Nespresso machine and leaning towards the Original Line vs the Vertuo Line for the fact that it has more variety of pods available and I don't need larger sizes.

Recommendations on an Original Nespresso machine?
we have the Essenza Mini bundle from target when it was $80 a year ago really like it The pods are easy to find

BTW - don't want to be negative but these prices at Macy's aren't particularly low.
Very true, Macy's bumped up the original price by 20% more and offering 50%.
Still it is good price.
Essenza plus with Aero costs $279 @ nespresso. But here 2 macys $349.
BBB also has some good ones and costco price same.
I would rather go with BBB or costco for return policy.

These prices are ok. For example, I bought the Breville Essenza Mini with the Aeroccinno for the same $93 at Target last May that Macy's is charging without it. I suspect demand for these machines are higher as a result of the pandemic. For example, my sister bought one at the start of the pandemic when she realized that they'd be stuck at home.

My sister bought the Vertuo machine and I have the originale machine. IMO, they are different machines. The original line is exclusively espresso usually designed for 2 to 4 ounce draws and you choose how large a draw no matter what is suggested by the pod maker. In comparison, the Vertuo line makes up to 8 ounce cups and you have no control over the size as the machine reads a bar code on the pods and adjusts brewing accordingly. I feel like the Vertuo is a lot more like a Keurig than the original line.
yes. I got that bundle last May too. Really like it. Do the Peet's capsule from Costco or the Starbucks ones when one sale. Definitely for espresso or americano drinkers.

I'll try the descaler again. I used up the bottle, but it didn't really fix the issue, so it might be the pods.

Thanks ice! I guess I have to start trying lavazza or original Nespresso pods.

The Peet's aluminum pods are solid. Good coffee and haven't ever failed me. The elusive Amazon Warehouse deal makes them even sweeter if you can catch it when it's live.

Which machine would be the best for a good Americano?
I am partial to Americano as well so I just use the "lungo" setting on my mini (which I got about a year ago on Amazon for about $80).

so confused, why would anyone buy these over a creatista plus for free when you buy $540 worth of pods?
