I've been browsing to build my own bike and just ordered this. I already had a spare crankset, frame/wheelset on order and just added a cassette, chain and disc rotors. Looks like it's cheaper than aliexpress with no tax and expedited shipping

If you are happy with your 105 then don't do it! Is $1k worth an upgrade to Di2 to you? It will definitely be "nicer", but it won't make you any faster, and it's cheaper for you to lose 1 pound on your own anyway. There is a strong common opinion out there that the modern 105 is almost indistinguishable in performance from Ultegra for the majority of people, unless you are a pro or a "weight weenie" with $$$ to burn... Get a power meter or a smart trainer instead if you don't have one yet 😉
Honesty, if you are on Slickdeals asking if you need an electronic groupset, then you don't need an electronic groupset. Hell, you don't even need an Ultegra mechanical groupset.

Because of the way that the technology trickles down across generations, the current crop of Tiagra and 105 are comparable to their high end brethren from a decade ago in terms of reliability and pretty damn close in terms of weight. They are amazingly impressive bits of engineering and will provide reliable shifting for many years if you take care of them. There is no reason for the average rider to buy anything above 105 unless you are an enthusiast with money to burn. Your body weight fluctuates more from day to day than you are going to save by buying a high end groupset.

If you are the kind of rider that needs Ultegra, your mechanic will have already recommended it and installed it on your bike. If you are the class of rider that truly needs Dura Ace, your groupset is going to be provided by your sponsors so it won't be your decision anyway.

If you are a normal person and want to have a nice road bike that will not let you down, buy something with 105 and hydraulic disc brakes, and then upgrade your wheels and add a power meter if you're into data. You will not outgrow that bike until you are committed to a daily training regiment and tracking your diet. Once you get to that point you'll know exactly what you need and I can guarantee you won't be asking for advice on electronic groupsets on Slickdeals.

Claris, Sora, Tiagra, 105, Ultegra, Dura Ace
So miles better than Sora

I have this groupset on my bike and it is wonderful. Performs identically to the new Dura Ace but is one pound heavier. If you ride a lot you'll be really happy with this purchase.

Thanks. I dream of one day purchasing this as I have heard how amazing electronic shifting is.

You don't necessarily need to upgrade to electronic. But once you do, it's hard to go back.

Ahhhhh, ok.
So it's made of carbon fiber?
No. It is the 2nd lightest groupset in Shimano's lineup only topped by Dura Ace. I have it on one of my bikes and it is a great and reliable groupset.

Can these be used on a tandem? I was looking at one of the spec sheets and saw that there were some maximum wiring lengths.

My cars breakers doesn't cost this much
Not really.

It includes (in car terms) brake system (master cylinder, booster, etc) + transmission system.

Have 105s currently and I'm very happy about it. Although this is temping haha. One day I'll upgrade but right now I see no reason to.
