Thinkpad T14s with Ryzen processor 50% off

Use code THINK50 for 50% off.

I configured a 4750U w/ 32gb ram, 400 nit low power screen. Stuck with 128gb SSD will replace with a 1 TB.

https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/lapt...2TPT144SA2 >Now $1132.50 with above configuration

My config came in at $1,117 after coupon. I had done the X13 deal with a 4650U, 16gb RAM. It also did not have an option for a 400 nit screen, so I went with the 300 nit. That config was about $200 less than this, I think this is a better deal.

As another poster mentioned, this deal includes double points.

Thinkpads aren't known for their screens.
Eh, they can be now for sure.

I have an X1 Extreme Gen 2 w/500nit 4k OLED panel and an X1 Carbon 6th gen w/500-nit 1440p IPS Dolby Vision panel.

They are the most gorgeous displays I've ever had the pleasure of using. Perfect combo for me, a self-proclaimed display snob. Don't like the PWM of the OLED, but it's a high frequency and only exhibits below 100% brightness, so not really an issue. The IPS LED is direct power, so no PWM.

My work X395 is absolutely horrificly bad tho. 1366x768, 250 nits and so, so bad.

When Lenovo makes a good panel it's fantastic. When they make an IT manager's budget panel, they are worse than a $100 chromebook. Never get a panel from Lenovo that's 1366 or below 400 nit. Ever.

You could buy a gigabyte aero oled around that price.

$1,117. Sorry, yes, the title should be T14s.

Keep in mind this has soldered RAM so you can't upgrade it. I had originally done the X13 deal but found this a bit better.
Kinda bummed that I missed out on this, which after cb would be very close to what I paid for my similarly specced X13.
Interestingly, the T14s also weighs just about the same as the X13. The higher nits screen, and cooling is probably ever so slightly better with the extra room

Will the use of this coupon affect the cb?
I read on the terms of the cb site here
Special Terms: Use of coupon/promotional codes not listed on R#*#*#* may void cb.
No, I got my cashback this morning. Also today lenovo has 12% cashback so I was able to get the additional funds added to my account.

Says expired. Also, wasn't that coupon for 40% off? I'd rather wait for a 50% off coupon again.

do you know if the privacy guard makes the screen more annoying with viewing angles? can it be turned off somehow when using the laptop?

I really like the idea of having 500nits brightness but am wondering if the 400 nits without privacy guard is better. I'm not really watching porn in public anyhow
From reviews on other Thinkpad model that I read, the privacy screen 500 nits has a bad viewing angle even when it's turned off. The eprivacy screen works by lowering the brightness. So if you max up brightness, the eprivacy won't be effective.
