Just learned about this while talking to AT & T customer retention department and they said it officially starts tomorrow. You have to provide proof (check stub, teaching license, id badge, etc.)
Saved me quite a bit of money. You can do this in a local store or call and they can email you a link to upload proof.

We also were able to get 4 IPhone 11 for $58 per month after $10 monthly credit but that was not teacher related. Didn't have to turn in our old phones either.

Just like any other company discount. Read the small print the 25% off applies to data fees only. That's the blowing smoke in your face. Wow 25% off ? Nope. 25% off 70% of the bill - so technically it's 25% off. Just not what you're actually thinking. Bait and switch as always for the sheep. Baa baa baa (pass - no thanks)
Att is the king of this... my current bill is 3 lines on the starter unlimited. Website says it's supposed to be like $110. After "taxes and fees" it's $180...

I currently have the ATT Unlimited Plus multi line. I "think" I get a veterans discount. 4 phones, iPad, Unite Explore hotspot. I'm a physician and a veteran. If I switch to the Elite plan and FirstNet:

What would be the cost?

What would be the data limits? More or less than my current plan?

Any throttling or prioritization? More restrictive than my current plan?

If I have an account under my name and my wife is the teacher do I still qualify?
No. You would have to "TOBR" Transfer of Billing Responsibility to your wife's name. Discounts only apply to account holder, not users.

Might be better off staying with ATT prepaid Walmart plan if 8 + 16gb is enough. At least it has hotspot

I am wondering that too. Or really, we have 5 lines on a grandfathered plan which AT&T reps have told me on more than one occasion was "better" than anything they currently offered however it does have a monthly data cap - that we never exceed. So, if we had unlimited it really wouldn't matter. I am wondering if the FAN associated with this deal gives a better discount than my current FAN (corporate). with that FAN, the discount only applied to the base price of the plan and not any line additions.

4 Lines w/ the teacher discount is $105 before taxes.
No HD Streaming, but to be honest on phones it's not a huge deal. No hotspot is a bigger thing. EVerything else is the same.

If you want to spend a few more and have hotspot and HD streaming, $120 before tax gives you that. (Umlimited Extra)

This is assumign you don't have any installment plans on your account or any other features and this pricing does require autopay. Without autopay the price is a lot more on the new plans. Almost $10 per line more.

Beware, the 25% off probably works for the "main" line and not the additional lines from family plan, at least that's how gov employee discounts are applied so I assume it's the same here. So the discount is much smaller than you think if you have a family plan.
If the billing is the same way with unlimited, ours is like that with a corporate FAN.

Traditionally a plan consists of a "base" rate (for the first line) then a fee for each additional line. So a single line is REALLY expensive (like $80-$100/mo+ depending on the package you choose) but additional lines are relatively cheap like $15-20/mo. The FAN only applies to the first line/package price, NOT the additional lines. I think I already get 20%. We are on a GB-cap plan, as we aren't data hogs and I've resisted going to an unlimited plan just for the sake of it.

The issue is old plans allowed discounts to be applied via corporate discounts. Newer plans don't unless you are a first responder/teacher

The newer plans also require autopay which some people don't use, but it can change the pricing drastically.

We've been on the same plan for.... awhile. I've been into a store a few times and they've said that for the GB, we're on a better plan than what they offer now, and that if we changed there is no going back.

So I could transfer our account to my wife (teacher), a bit of a PITA but worth it if it's a better deal.

Also someone on the first page of this said they worked for AT&T and that this discount is a FAN like any other FAN.

I have a FAN with 23% but doesn't seem to limit the number of lines.... this 25% limits to 4 lines.... doesn't seem as good then? I'd have to change ownership to my wife's name as it's she's the RN.

It would be cheaper to be on the newer plan with your wife's teacher discount. Even without having autopay the pricing for starter is $135. With autopay it brings it down to $105.

Correct, it's a FAN number that is added to the account. This FAN is specficially for teachers and it gives 25% off on all newer plans which is great.

Is this combinable with the $10 (off per line) FAN discount on Elite Unlimited plan?
