Good price. but, this is the loudest little fan you will ever use. FYI
I blow it at my face to sleep and the white noise works

I'm using mine right now, it is loud and it vibrates your desk on the highest setting.
The lowest setting is almost useless.
It goes from a super light breeze to a full blown gust, there is no in-between

But I had used it off and on for over 5 years, and its held up thru office summers, lol.

Doesn't any fan with manual adjustable settings work with a smart plug?

I have one of these for my home office. It's just OK. I have a tiny metal fan at work that's more powerful, but it only has on/off.

I bought one of these at Costco a few years ago--I think I paid $20. I'll agree with some other reviews: it's very loud on the high setting and doesn't really move a ton of air. You can't really get around the physics of trying to spin a small fan faster to make up for its lack of surface area on the fan blades.

For it's size, it's fine. But it's not going to "wow" you with its performance. Unless you absolutely need the tiny form factor, any standard box fan is going to be both quieter and more effective.

Some fans with digital settings will default to off when the AC plug is powered. Interaction is still needed with the actual fan to turn on even when the plug is energized.

Yes, that's why I specified "manual adjustable settings" in my comment. I don't see any digital on/off associated with this fan, only manual. The majority of fans will be manually controlled and therefore can be controlled with a smart plug. Any manual device can be controlled with a smart switch. The comment that this manually adjustable fan can be controlled with a smart outlet is a fairly obvious one and therefore did not warrant mentioning

Lotsa noise, which is fine for us because it doubles as a white noise machine, but you have to use with a smart plug because the on/off dial is the dumbest, most non human centric thing ever.

Your point is relevant, this is manually controlled by the wheel you can see on the front, it has 3 positions: off, low, and high. The reason a smart plug is useful (to me at least) is to quickly and easily turn it on and off without touching the wheel. The wheel is hard to turn with one hand if the fan is pointed down because you can't grip it. I use a smart plug and just say "hey google turn on fan" or tap a button on my phone's screen. Given how loud this thing is, I need to turn it off when I'm on phone calls so it's MUCH more convenient hitting the phone button between calls since I'm sometimes jumping between conference calls for work throughout the day.

Oh, I totally agree with you. I have almost everything in my home and workshop automated with smart devices. They make life ridiculously easier. My whole point was not intended to negate the usefulness of smart plugs. It was simply to state that the fact that a manually adjusted power switch device obviously works with a smart plug, just like any other manually controlled device. It's like if someone posted a deal on lightbulbs and I were to comment that they work with a light switch. It just doesn't need to be stated.

These suck. We get these for free where I work every time after we order rolls of labels. The amount of air they push out may be okay at this price, but it definitely won't keep you cool and it's loud.

The Air King table fan blows these out of the water. The air flow is a few to several times more. They cost more, but there are knock offs that use the same turbine like design that will provide similar performance.

What's with the down votes lol? Do people just not like viable alternatives? Been working in fulfillment /warehouses my whole career. Most aren't temp controlled with limited insulation and airflow. Having smaller personal table fans is a must for associates especially during the summer..

Where I work at now we literally have both.. The one that's on sale now that we only use because we get for free from Uline and the ones we order which are the Air King table fans. The wind turbine design that the Air King uses is like night and day in comparison with the Vornado desk fans..
