Good luck anyone trying to snag one. Most of the stores would be out of the stock or the employees will keep for themselves.
True, and the employee situation does need to be squashed... but I get the previous version of this last year same deal, but the 1070 variant. Interestingly it was same price as this but better specd. Very thankful it was posted on slickdeals. Please don't stop pirating these Smilie

That's why if you're a Walmart employee, and you are in the market for a gaming laptop, but this still costs too much, you hide one in the back somewhere. Wait a few weeks, the price may drop some more, then you suddenly "find" it when it's in your price range.

Knew a few people who did this when I worked in retail.
Exactly. It's a real thing people.

Or worse you would have gotten one when you didn't need one.
I did that with the Chromebook+Headphones deal yesterday. Have zero need for a new laptop but it was such a good deal I couldn't resist.

Got the same deal with a 512 gig ssd and non 144hz panel for 899 during Black Friday for price comparison if that helps. Performance wise it crushes triple a games at 1080p. 1660 ti is a monster 1080p card. I removed all the omen bull crap and installed a new clean windows os, did a thermal repaste- currently using thermal grizzly. Temps are kept in check using throttle stop. You can use intel XTU if you want but I had issues with it and went ahead with throttle stop.

My first Omen laptop smoked and burned up the motherboard 16 months in, just a bit after their 12-month warranty expired. I won't be buying another Omen or recommending one, EVER. Now I'm back to using my Lenovo Y70 from 2015 that works like new.

Clarification: I didn't overheat it. It was on a desk during ordinary web-browsing. Bad manufacturing/soldering/etching caused a short that burned up the northbridge (I did an autopsy).

Is it worth upgrading the Walmart Overpowered 15 i7 8750 1060 6gb gtx? I have OP laptop its great but the 1060 struggles a bit, i play division 2 mostly, noticed after they did major updates to the game, laptop can't keep the 60fp on same settings before the updates, noticed 5-10fps drop, and GPU load always at 99%, I may sell mine on CL and buy this one since there is one but "limited stock" within 24 miles.

I've gotten in on a lot of Walmart YMMV deals over the years and I have never been able to find the item when it says "limited stock" in Brickseek so I don't bother going now unless it has a quantity listed.

I see, last time i went to walmart asking for "limited stock" the associate said those are most likely stolen items, and pending audit🙄, Im just gonna use that .01% chance of imagining the laptop collecting dust in the back counter, to drive around breath some fresh air stop by walle and get out of the lockdown habit hehe.

up coming AMD deal might be better?

Well we don't know how it would be good and how much but this CPU is simply not good enough for today's gaming with 11k CPU mark.

Sorry 1 is in CT, geography lol, doesnt consider the ferry an issue.
For anyone searching Long Island, NY area, hopefully you read this and save yourself the trip. Spent an hour as they opened at Farmingdale and got the run-around that it's "sold out" and "none in the back" spoke to a manager to try and buy the display model but no luck. May the odds be ever in your favor!
