Black is only $10 more on the bottom of the page at Amazon... Good find!
Note that this is DRAM-less. Probably fine for a boot drive, not that great for heavy workloads like video rendering. And the regular price is only $5 more per the triple humped site, so this is no fantastic bargain.
Nah, should be fine for a boot drive. You typically don't need maximum performance for everyday use.

I always heard that DRAM-less drives are NOT optimal for being a boot drive, and more just for storage?

This is actually a very good drive. Benchmarks have it performing light loads about as well, or sometimes slightly better than the Black version. This is due to it having a newer controller and flash memory. For heavy tasks the black is better.

For light duties and game playing this drive is very good. It sucks that it isn't at its historical lows. It has been about $5-10 off the black pricing which is odd since it is supposed to be a budget product. It is probably the best non-premium SSD out there. For get the QLC drives and Intel 660P for the mid tier. This is the drive to get if the price is right.

It is blue color, yak.
Needs flames on it to make it faster. Buy a heatsink if the color offends. 😀

the black sn750 is awesome. i upgraded my macbook pro 2015 with it and is truly fast as can be, over 2,200mbps write speed and 2600mbps read on a regular basis. will get another next time i need it. superb performance no lag, not that macbooks lag much anyway.
