$280 for a 5.5 round Staub Cocotte isn't a good deal.
Is Staub made in China now? I saw the Costco set posted after your post was, but maybe the high cost studd is still made in France? Either way, if some already is, it won't be long...

Who is spending $199 for a toaster? Does it do something that say a $25 toaster won't do?
Yeah, it empties your wallet for free. Stick Out Tongue

For that size and color, probably no.

Wow! This deal is misleading. Should probably be taken down.

It'll make people ask "you spent HOW MUCH on a toaster!?"

I actually have one and recommend it.

Two slices of Wonder Bread in, and a few minutes later, avocado toast with organic sourdough out

I have a few Le Creusets and Staub cooking "vessels" but honestly use my very cheaply priced Martha Stewart 6qt Dutch Oven for most dutch oven type cooking because it just works as well as the more expensive stuff.

The prices seem off to me. The starting prices seem a bit high only to be discounted to a more reasonable starting price. 400-500$ for a 5.5qt is ridiculous.
They are going into bankruptcy. They probably hired a bankruptcy liquidation company to either bouy them through corona or to handle their closing down. Those places are known for doing things like having massive 'store closing' sales at massive markdowns, but jacking up the 'original' price. It isn't like they have a reputation to uphold anymore, the only interest is paying their creditors. The Sports Authority near me did the same thing when they folded. Not a single day was any item priced after discount beneath what it had been before the bankruptcy.

They do work just as good, but they chip. The chips don't affect the performance, but baby sitting them so they don't rust and the annoyance in keeping the chipped areas clean is perpetual.

IMO it's good to pick up a staub or le creuset immediately if you see one on the cheap. Don't have the psychological burden of dealing with chips. Also, Im not the sort that spends big $$ to feel good, but I acknowledge the placebo effect is real. It's an item that makes me 'feel' better when I cook. A little uptown is good for you, especially if you are the type that always forfeits fluff. I choose my feel good items carefully, mainly I limit to ones I use constantly.

my 2 cents

Have used a 6 qt. Lodge enameled cast iron dutch oven for almost a decade now and have never had an issue with chipping. I'm not rough when I use it, but it's been out on camping trips and potlucks and had been used to steam crabs and make countless stews.

That said, the uptown factor is real. I'd get a Staub or Le Creuset if I didn't already have the Lodge.

The only thing I can see that is a good deal is the PolyScience chamber vac. Chamber vacs are normally $800+ and never go on sale. It is an edge case, though. Not very many people want/need to have a chamber vac. It's $499 btw.

I shop here every once and a while and you are correct. All retail prices are about 50% marked up and sale items, on knives at least, are about $10 lower than normal pricing. Screw La Table
