WUT?
Do you need the latest AMD CPU for life saving medical research? What does pandemic have to do with nonessential items?

Seems really good. Any reason not to grab it? Is the Ryzen's still worth waiting for?

I'm looking for something that doesn't get hot working on your lap and has decent battery life.

Also checks the IPS, 16gb RAM I'm looking for. Any input helps! Thanks
Actually, Tiger Lake is the tops now per recent benchmarks. Also, Intel history of optimizing battery and processing speed (turbo, throttling, etc) still make it king.

However, I think AMD is close on the processing speed and battery use. But from what I've seen, models are being crippled with low RAM, small batteries, and low nit screens. Granted, the launch was just recent for the AMD renoir 4000 series, so I expect more offerings soon.

Even with Tiger Lake beating Renoir in one benchmark, I think dollar:dollar, the AMD offerings will be better based on price point as long as the build quality and specs increase.

Powered by a proprietary power supply. Not USB-C as my yoga 720.
That is another brick to carry when travel. Pass.

I love the fact that my Lenovo Yoga, and my wife's Lenovo Ideapad are powered by standard USB-C and can be charged by same charger I carry for our phones.

Which model has the modern charging and display? I'm a little confused. I believe the c640 has a barrel charger but wasn't sure on the display.
Neither for their 2020 editions. But that's my point. It'd be like buying a Palm Pilot in 2010, 3 years after the iPhone came out.

Within 3-4 years all computers will have updated aspect ratios and charge via Thunderbolt. There are some available now. But those specs will be standard as a phone (smartphone) in 2014.

I think what hes saying is what 13.3" model has the newer charging and aspect ratio? Not just Lenovo. I've been on the lookout for something similar with the charger and 16 gb ram, even if around the $1k mark. XPS 13 is nice but none of the specials ever have enough ram. I should've gotten the thinkpad deal a couple weeks ago.

Do you think it can also be powered by USB-C? I have a dell laptop with a proprietary charger but there's also a USB-C and I'm currently charging it with that

Please help? I was sent to this site to look for best deal and I like the computer. The price you listed is a GREAT DEAL but what is cb and how do I get that price? I am not even sure I can get back to this thread to find your answer! LOL. My email is wfamilyof5@yahoo.com and I would appreciate any help navigating me.

Right. Choices are limited, but there are options if you're willing to spend the dough.

The Acer Swift 3 and Acer Spin 5 were recently released. There are both 16:9 and 3:2 models, so be sure to pick the right one. XPS line is 1610. MacBooks are 16:10. LG Gram 17 is 16:10, not quite as small though. It was leaked the Lenovo Yoga Carbon with 11th gen Intel processors will be 16:10.

Surface Laptop is 3:2 but lacks Thunderbolt charging. Huawei MateBook line from 2018 is 3:2. The 2019 and 2020 series were never released in the US due to trade ban.

There will many more options in 2021. Which is why, if you need a laptop now, spend the least amount possible and upgrade next year or in 2022 when these devices will cost much less because the specs are standard.
