Wow I can't believe how expensive these are, could probably take the LCD panel out of a $100 monitor glue it inside of a picture frame and add a $20 raspberry pi
The Meural is a great idea, but I'm not sure it is worth $395. Some of my gripes is the aspect ratio (what art and photos are 16:9?), and the subscription of $80/yr coupled with the vague statement that 60% of what they earn goes to artists (How do they define earnings? Who are the artists?). But I guess asking for 60% EBIDA is too optimistic. I just get my panties in a bunch whenever companies make "pay-it-forward" statements without any details or substantiation.
first thought is how is this worth $395? a 27" screen in a picture frame?Confused

What's the price drop to on the black model?

Anyone ever done a comparison of these to the Samsung Frame? The 43-inch model sometimes gets in this price territory. Thanks in advance.

Thanks. I am asking how low did the black model previously get (not for the current price). I thought you were indicating it goes on sale for less than $395.

It's been $395 several times. It was $350 once without the swivel mount.

I bought two when it was on sale for Mother's Day. The swivel is cool but not really used often. Most paintings are in portrait. It's beautiful. I have a 55in 4K monitor and the way photos and paintings look on here is almost realistic. The brush strokes look 3D. Meural support is beyond dumb. My wife gets mad because all the photos we've got on a micro sd her paintings don't have a shot :-)

I'd like to hear anyone's input on this too. Thinking about getting a 55" Samsung frame for the bedroom and sticking a Meural somewhere in our new house. I'd hope the Meural looks a little more natural. The frame looks decent at best buy, but it still pretty glossy. The frames has interchangeable frames; the Meural 2 does as well, but the original one on sale here does not. The Meural has a real mat; the Samsung frame can create a digital mat.

I bought the black one, and I like it, but the software side of things is abysmal. Searching through the art collection is really slow and there are not many filters. There is a website, but it is clearly designed to be identical to the app, and does not add much functionality. The sd card is limited to 4 folders, so you can't have unlimited playlists. Connectivity seems kind of spotty. The display looks really good, but I probably wouldn't recommend it unless someone knows of a way to hack it to put your own software on it. I mostly just use if for my own photos, and put them all in a single playlist, since it is too much work otherwise (There is no multiselect that I have found to add photos to playlists except for immediately after uploading them, so it is a real pain to do). I have read the Samsung Frame's have terrible software as well, but I don't have one to compare.
