I read all the previous threads for this deal. There's two types of replies, those adding nothing of value, just complaints about the price, then those praising it and/or saying their wife praises it.

Ordered one for the wife. She has super thick hair and constantly complains about regular 1875w dryers we have so hoping this turns out to be a sussessful birthday gift. Not a bit concerned about the refurbished condition as long as it functions as intended.

bought it last year for the wife, who loves it. Quieter and cuts drying time down from her $80 Costco hairdryer. A couple days ago it wouldn't turn on. Call Dyson who claimed my 1 year warranty has expired by 2 days. I had to argue that it took a week to ship, and that I should actually have a couple more days left from the date I received the item. "as a one time courtesy" she sent me out a new one, but it made me mad that a hairdryer this expensive just stopped working in 1 year. Kept the filter cleaned and took care of it....I would buy it again but only with a credit card that extends the warranty

Can anyone else confirm this?
I can confirm that we've never tripped a breaker with this, and the wife will use it on a shared circuit without issue. It uses 1600 watts (just searched), and her old hair dryer was consuming 1875 watts. If anything it's less likely to trip a breaker for us.

The guy who said it is tripping must use it on a shared circuit with other active electronics. Maybe even a 15 amp circuit (1800 total usable watts) when it should be on a 20 amp (2400 usable watts) - also you should only ever continuously use 80% of either of these totals.

tl;dr no it will not trip you circuit anymore than your current hair dryer.

I am sure some credit card, like Citi, does not cover refurbished item. Anyone knows which credit card has extended warranty on this refurbish hair dryer?

Does it come in a regular box special package because it's refurbiahed?
Generic packaging. If you're getting it as a gift it shows refurbished supersonic on the side.

Does this dry hair 10x better than a $20 hairdryer?
Just got this for my girlfriend and she won't stop talking about it and claims a noticeable difference. On the benefit side for you it's much quieter and I've even noticed her hair dries in about half the time. Important if you share a bathroom.

Was hesitant at first purchasing refurbished, but other than the packaging it looks unused. Small mark on the power brick, but with the discount it's hardly something to complain about. Would recommend if you've been on the fence.

Not sure it's that simple. There are several benefits. These are quieter which is nice but they do also seem to work better. Both from an end result and time factor.

If it saves you 5 minutes per day for two years is that worth the $200. Maybe to some maybe not to others.

For me it was a bit of luxury purchase but the noise reduction alone is worth it.

Yup. Welcome to SlickDeals where even a Rolls Royce at 25% off is a bad deal because a Toyota Corolla can get also get you from A to B. Almost every post for luxury items is full of these people. Their sole purpose in life is to visit deals they can't afford and then convince others how they're morons for spending so much money when the 99 cent store has an alternative. Ironically, that kind of limited thinking however is what keeps them where they are in life.

Just confirmed with chase freedom cc rep. Freedom will have one more year warranty if you buy this dryer by their credit card.

this nicely sums up the threadcrappers comparing Dyson, Apple, and Tesla to products 10x cheaper:

https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=138576746&postcount=41

I honestly think some people have deal alerts set to dyson, apple, tesla, nike, etc just to come in and start complaining how x, y, or z is overpriced
