Just confirmed with chase freedom cc rep. Freedom will have one more year warranty if you buy this dryer by their credit card.
The Points Guy says "refurbished items will be covered as long as they have a warranty and would not be considered used or pre-owned" for Chase, so another confirmation.

Does this dry hair 10x better than a $20 hairdryer?
No way! I would say 3x better. You can buy 20 cheap hairdryers and see if you can get any closer to a Dyson.

I resisted buying for a long time. My wife insisted it was the bomb. I would say it's 2x better and she say 5x.

These dryers helped my special needs kid get over the noise of dryers. Still a bit freaked out by hand dryers but not driven to tears.
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Got the deal from May and still worth it. The lower sound and the wind blade are just incredible. Notice less hair falling out too and I need every single strand!

Yup. Welcome to SlickDeals where even a Rolls Royce at 25% off is a bad deal because a Toyota Corolla can get also get you from A to B. Almost every post for luxury items is full of these people. Their sole purpose in life is to visit deals they can't afford and then convince others how they're morons for spending so much money when the 99 cent store has an alternative. Ironically, that kind of limited thinking however is what keeps them where they are in life.
rolls royce at any price is a bad deal.

this nicely sums up the threadcrappers comparing Dyson, Apple, and Tesla to products 10x cheaper:

https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=138576746&postcount=41

I honestly think some people have deal alerts set to dyson, apple, tesla, nike, etc just to come in and start complaining how x, y, or z is overpriced
That post was on point. Thank you. 😆

Is it worth buying refurbiahed over new? I was planning on gifting it to my sister as a graduation present

any extended warranties offered?
Mine was like new condition and works perfectly. Dyson warranties them for a year you just have to register it when it arrives. Near as I can tell it's just $200+ saved.

bought it last year for the wife, who loves it. Quieter and cuts drying time down from her $80 Costco hairdryer. A couple days ago it wouldn't turn on. Call Dyson who claimed my 1 year warranty has expired by 2 days. I had to argue that it took a week to ship, and that I should actually have a couple more days left from the date I received the item. "as a one time courtesy" she sent me out a new one, but it made me mad that a hairdryer this expensive just stopped working in 1 year. Kept the filter cleaned and took care of it....I would buy it again but only with a credit card that extends the warranty
I had it 2 years already but no problems, definitely love it, dry hair super fast and not loud at all. Plus, it makes my hair feel softer compared to other hairdryers (or maybe bc of the price made me believe so) lol

Well it's only a matter of time before my wife's sisters and friends own one of these and tell my wife that she has to have one. Dyson could make a $1,000 toothbrush and everyone would buy it. Might as well be called Apple or Tesla.

It's a supply/demand world we live it. No different than used weights selling like hot cakes for $2 a pound right now when pre-COVID they were lucky to get $.50 a pound.
