Yup. Welcome to SlickDeals where even a Rolls Royce at 25% off is a bad deal because a Toyota Corolla can get also get you from A to B. Almost every post for luxury items is full of these people. Their sole purpose in life is to visit deals they can't afford and then convince others how they're morons for spending so much money when the 99 cent store has an alternative. Ironically, that kind of limited thinking however is what keeps them where they are in life.
Who says I can't afford it? I just asked if it was worth ten times more than a regular blowdryer.

My dog loves it
Actually as someone who's wife grooms dogs this dryer is much much smaller and lighter than any other one we've used. Much quieter and easier to manage when trying to control a dog with one hand or grooming strap. Not that I would suggest buying it only for grooming, but for those who do, it's a nice benefit.

My reply was to something MrSlickDealz wrote and not in response to what you wrote. It was also a generalization based on the attitudes I find on SD. I find your question extremely valid Smilie

I bought one mostly because I was wondering the same thing. It's actually a very impressive machine when compared to almost everything else on the market which are designed to be priced around twenty bucks. The Dyson is high quality throughout, even the beefy (but very flexible) power cord is quality. And the performance is equally impressive - very strong air flow, but quieter than others. It's like comparing a $119 Nest Protect smoke detector to a $10 First Alert POS. Is it worth 10 times more? Well, that's subjective, but sometimes it's nice to own the best product on the market.

I'd say at this price yes it's worth 10x. However, full price of $400 is No.

Not an issue for me.

can someone else chime in on less hair falling out part? If this is true then I'm definitely getting it lol
Cannot confirm. My hair falls out and now flies/sticks to the wall due to the speed/force of this hair dryer. It is MUCH faster to blow dry my hair and I prefer it to the T3. I bought it new on a Best Buy deal shortly before Black Friday last year. After rebates, it didn't cost much more than this refurbished model.

bought it last year for the wife, who loves it. Quieter and cuts drying time down from her $80 Costco hairdryer. A couple days ago it wouldn't turn on. Call Dyson who claimed my 1 year warranty has expired by 2 days. I had to argue that it took a week to ship, and that I should actually have a couple more days left from the date I received the item. "as a one time courtesy" she sent me out a new one, but it made me mad that a hairdryer this expensive just stopped working in 1 year. Kept the filter cleaned and took care of it....I would buy it again but only with a credit card that extends the warranty
Ahh we need to clean the filter? I had no idea! (I also preferred this to the Costco T3).

Has anyone had theirs ship yet? I've been waiting 2 days already and it still hasn't shipped out. Newegg shipping is notoriously slow and embarrassing for such a huge online retailer.

The same deal was going on a few weeks ago when I ordered. It took a few days for Newegg to coordinate the deal with Dyson, but once that happened, it was delivered soon after - maybe two days.

Nobody can make something cheap and simple into something complicated and expensive like Dyson. Their fans....wtf $250 for a $10 fan. But if you've got money burning a hole in your pocket, and want to tell people, "I got a Dyson fan" then that's the market.

go watch their videos showing how their products work and what went into developing them.Their target market is obviously not you, and thats fine if you are ok with just a $10 fan. No need to complain about other people that enjoy their products. Everyone has different budgets, wants, and needs.

Damn, the country club crowd comes out swinging. I have several Dyson items. It's overpriced, overly complicated, and I bought it because it's a Dyson. It does the same thing as a much cheaper product but I can't call my much cheaper product a Dyson.

People who are Dyson stuff are like the appliance equivalent of vegans. In the first breath, there'll let you know it's a Dyson, not just any old Shark or Hoover.
