I'm not sure if this game is on Game Pass anymore, but at $5.99, the digital price to own is hard to pass up. This game has been out for the better part of a decade, so no need for introductions. As an avid Street Fighter fan, I was extremely disappointed that Capcom dropped Microsoft so quickly and made SF5 a Sony exclusive, but I have made peace with it, seeing how much a pos SF5 has become. The OG players still congregate to this game, more specifically the Ultra iteration of this game, which can be bought as a DLC upgrade. If you watched Evo, Capcom Cup, or CEO in the past, you will still run into a lot of familiar tournament names playing online today. The community is thriving.

If anyone ever wants to play, my Xbox gamertag is the same as my SD handle.

While the game itself is backward compatible, just be mindful that if you have invested in any Xbox 360 arcade fight sticks in the past, those are unfortunately not forward compatible with the Xbox One. I found it extremely hard to play these 6-button fighting games with the stock Xbox 360 / Xbox One gamepad.
Good point!

Like to add that you can also get a Cronus Max to fix this. Of course, those adapters start at $60.

So Ultra SF IV is an add-on to Super SFIV Arcade Edition?

Is there just an "Ultimate Edition" that includes everything on sale. Seems ridiculous with all these versions.
Yup.

According to Xbox Marketplace:
Quote :
This content is only compatible with Super SFIV and SSFIV Arcade Edition, and is not stand-alone content. It adds the same content found in the package version of Ultra SFIV (alternate costumes excluded). Once USFIV add-on is installed and launched, the save file from SSFIV / SSFIV:AE will convert to USFIV.
I bought the physical Xbox 360 disc of Ultra which is the "Ultimate" edition in your words. But you can also buy in on this deal then get the Ultra DLC... or just buy the physical version on eBay or GameStop [gamestop.com].

Yup. Very good point. I had 2 360 arcade sticks but went PS4 for this generation. So I bought the Brook adapter and have been very happy with it. I finally ended up buying a stick for PS4 on a deal I saw here on SD.

It turns out, I already own Super SF IV. Most likely from Games with Gold. I will wait for the Ultra add-on to go on sale some day. $15 is too much for this old game.

Thank you!

SFV has been dumbed down for casual play.

I still can't recommend it. Capcom lied about everything thing with each iteration of the game. The community has long abandoned it.
YESSSS!!!! Thank you for saying that! They mistakenly tried to "appeal to a wider audience" so they made it simpler, but it made it so so so much more boring. God I love SF4... and 5, the "successor" was utter disappointment.

I'm good at old SF2 but when I play SF4 it seems totally different tactics. More deep combos, it won't be overnight to be good at it, take weeks even months to be good at it.

Isn't ultra NOT BC?

From what I know

Vanilla BC
Super AE BC
Ultra NOT BC

For X1, the super version is what you would want.

I myself am conflicted

I have the collection for xbox 1 and the latest version of 5 for ps4. do I really even need or want 4? Seems like 5 would cover that niche while Alpha and Third Strike would cover the other end

Everything you said is completely off the mark, which is strange considering you are familiar with SF.

All SF4 titles are BC, Ultra is a DLC upgrade pack that can be downloaded for SSF4 and SSF4:AE

Each game in the street fighter series is unique and has its own niche, so I don't really understand your concept of one game replacing the other. Anyone with any exposure to fighting games knows that each iteration of a game was made for a reason, so if someone wants to play SF4, you can't simply substitute that with SF5. If you can't understand why that is, then you don't truly appreciate fighting games for what they are.

Do you think the Sega Vintage Collection: Golden Axe (for the Xbox 360) will be backwards-compatible with the Xbox One, too?

Ultra is backwards compatible. Not officially on the list but when the BC program was still active, people tested their Ultra discs when other versions of SFIV became BC and for some reason it works.

Thanks for the info. I was surprised everyone was talking about Ultra as BC.

I did buy this right now with this deal (SSFIV), BUT, I don't know if it's just me... Ultra SFIV upgrade came out free? It said I already own it but I don't remember buying it, I even went through my Xbox Orders and still can't find when I "bought" it

I have a 360 and am downloading this now, should I look for game sticks to play it? i have a wireless rechargeable controller now, but with a dead battery so I unfortumately I am currently on a short leash. Would the Cronos work for me on 360?

Is it much better than the original SF 4 that's only .79 cents?

I'm assuming I missed out on the .79 cent deal since it's showing $3.99 now?
