I'd be curious to try 1, but I can't justify 6. I also haven't really had good experiences personally with gel... even if it does keep my hair where I want, it seems to give me a headache and irritate my eyes

Got2Be Glued. Use very little on lightly damp hair, its like nothing I've ever used. Holds all day, not shiny, but it was annoying to figure out how much to use and you get basically one shot.
