Had an offer of $3990 get accepted from Greentoe. Do not want to get into the authorized vs unauthorized dealer debate but Greentoe only allows authorized dealers. For those unaware of Greentoe, the $3990 price includes tax and shipping.

I want to go opposite and get a XBR48A9S, but sony is taking forever to put it out. Notice on amazon, lg is getting more and more 1 star reviews on their oleds lately. And most are unrelated to the panel itself, so people can't say well sony uses same panel etc,...

So only bad part is the extra cost, longer wait, sony does have some issues as well, and not the newest hdmi version.
Which is why it didn't work for me as a computer monitor, really want that 4k @ 120hz gaming! However I feel LG's QC is somewhat lackluster sometimes. The two 48" CX that I got brand new in box had scratches on the back where the electronics are housed and both were new and sealed.

How does the C9 have better gaming performance? The CX supports every form of VRR. I didn't think the C9 did.
I'm not a gamer nor am I a TV expert but I have been reading about a reduction in bandwidth via HDMI for the CX over the C9.

That only applies to PC gaming and even then it will effect very few people from my understanding. Won't effect console gaming at all.

Damn. I ordered a C9 77 for $3794 or something from Any last week. Now I'm wondering if I should switch.
You should switch....

Don't be scared off by such comments. AM delivered two TVs to me and both went smoothly.

Just keep in mind that it is a no-frills service, so rescheduling delivery if you miss the first appointment is a hassle. In my case, both deliveries arrived hours earlier than scheduled. At least, the truck driver called before showing up.

This is the typical service level for all freight shipments. The only way to get better service is to pay for White Glove delivery from Amazon or Best Buy.

The hard part of this situation is that you can only do 10bit 120hz RGB/4:4:4 @ 4k with 40 Gbps however Nvidia hasn't really allowed 10-bit on consumer cards. You can do 8-bit or 12-bit but not really 10-bit. So people are scared that Nvidia won't allow 10-bit in the new cards and not get the full HDR experience.

what did you think of the picture and overall performance of it for a 48 inch? And did you test for input lag?

I originally had the very first oled to hit the market from LG (after it went way down) and I was noticing on a dark screen an imprint of that area back there that housed the electronics.... so not your exact issue, but it was annoying and making me think to myself that they should have made it a tad thicker rather than cause that stupid sisue by trying t get it insanely thin.

Anwyay, I would LIKE to have that 120hz, but I am not going to use the tv as a monitor or for pc gaming. I know people say ps5 will utilize it, though, so it does suck that Sony is stupid to not have that hdmi version...

That all said I am still leaning towards the Sony. Right now I am using a kuro elite for my tv of around that size and I do still love it (and have a bigger oled and have tried other oleds), but am hoping the 2020 oled makes me happy...

Overall I enjoy it quite a bit compared to my previous monitor, I have not but feels "fast" enough for me.

Honestly it's all incremental at this point if you own an OLED from the last couple iterations. I own a E7, E8, and an A1E and while picture on the CX is somewhat better, it's not a huge difference. The only thing thats really gotten better is the Banding and Vignetting. My CX panel is really clean compared to everything else.

Why is C9 better than CX again? I have a 65 C8 but want to move that to my bedroom and get a 77 for living room

the oled I have is one from before they started making them all 4ka nd since I sit close, I think even on the 48 i would benefit some from 4k. Also, i have an insanely weird issue where tvs hurt my head badly, but some models randomly bother it less than others, so I have to keep trying different models hoping for one to finally not bother it badly.

So in will probably try one again and if it bothers my head as bad as usual I'll have to wait yet more years... Inb some ways I actually love the kuro more than oleds. Plasma still looks better to me on some content. The movies that show off the perfect black level the most make the oled stand out big time, of course, though.

Exactly. He's wrong. Plus the CX has 120 Hz BFI and improved near black performance (which has been the biggest PQ gripe against OLEDs)

77" doesn't seem to go down much. Maybe it goes to $4,000 for Black Friday at BestBuy but you will have to pay taxes on that and wait several more months to just end up paying more.
