I've been meaning to make a post. All of their Optimum batteries are clearance. I haven't seen one cent yet but I grabbed 20 packs at $0.40 per battery.

Not to be rude. Please avoid these batteries as they are not good for the environment. Buy rechargeables.
Not to be rude, but your electric car is just as bad for the environment. If folks want/need batteries, these are decent enough. You don't have to like it.

I'd say this is inherently wrong. If you're saying a valid disposable batteries sure? But realistically premium longer lasting batteries should be better for the environment. Where 1 premium battery can equal anywhere from 1-8x a traditional battery you're significantly reducing waste simply using 1 instead of X number of traditional batteries. While sure, it's not AS good as a rechargeable, I'd argue that it's still better than traditional capacity 1 use batteries.

That's just not the case. Even if we 100% buy into the environmental harm, there are definitely cases where disposable batteries make more sense. For example, when something is going to be sitting idle for longer periods or when the batteries are being stored.

This could just be a pricing error no?

Why would they price it $0.01 in a clearance? People would pay 10-30 times more in a marked clearance bin.

No it was in their battery station or whatever they call it, its basically where all the batteries ate by the checkout.

typical home depot price when the item is supposed to be pulled and return to vendor, so not a price error, just something they do. Its going to be YMMV if you can buy it without hassle though. Self checkout is always your friend. This isnt a large ticket item, so just dont go in and try to buy 40 of them lol
