This is the second best deal I have seen, the last one was back in March for a similar price with 32GB of RAM. Still a very solid deal. Especially considering you can always upgrade the RAM yourself.

Not bad; just keep in mind that in 4-5 months the next gen GPUs are coming out. You can essentially say that almost every time though.

Wow, 240hz display, gtx 2060? I feel like gaming notebooks make more economic sense than gaming desktops purely from a component price perspective. In the past I have always thought getting a high end desktop and a cheap laptop made the most economic sense. Now I wonder if the reverse is true.

You won't get anywhere near 240hz anywhere it matters. Almost everyone I know who has a gaming laptop utilizes it as a portable desktop. 15" is way too small to play most games in any competitive manner. I personally can't do much on anything smaller than a 24" monitor, but maybe I'm old now. Also worth noting that desktops have much better airflow which is crucial when gaming. Most laptops utilize laptop sized GPUs rather than full sized but they will do their best to hide from you that it is not a full sized GPU.

The next gen consoles are coming out soon and they will rek this laptop like nothing, and will be $500 or so.
This has literally nothing to do with laptops or PC gaming in general. You're a weird champ for even commenting.

The only information you have about the Series X is in the GPU's teraflops performance which is essentially useless information that tells us absolutely nothing. It's purposely done this way. They haven't released any key details to actually tell of the real world performance of the hardware. You're high if you think you know something the community doesn't about it. Teraflops would be useful information if you were trying to mine bitcoins like it's 2010, but in 2020 it tells you absolutely nothing about gaming performance of a machine. You should try to understand it would make literally zero sense for AMD/INTEL to release hardware for the Xbox that beats current gen PCs for a lower price. It simply won't even come close to happening. They're bragging they're going to be able to utilize 120 FPS.... around the same time Apple is also saying they will have 120 FPS phones..... so I mean, when you're catching up to cell phones in 2020 you're doing something wrong.

You do you though.

Can you split payment between Dell Account and AMEX? I was thinking to get something like this and maximize savings.

I used to feel the same way about the next thing being 4-5 months out, always, but it's actually not really true. RTX 2060 came out January 2019 and the 20 series, like the 2080, started shipping September 2018.

There's a whole roll-out cycle that seems to take 2-3 years. 4-5 months ago, nothing noteworthy in this performance tier was coming.

Then you have oddities like SSD prices actually increasing in the last 6 months or so.

All this to say timing can be important, it's complicated, and it probably shouldn't be dismissed out of hand like it's a tired misconception that you should ever consider waiting.

edit: wow, grammar.

Also, I think the RTX 3080 is what's closer to release, 3060 might still be almost a year out. The 3080 is going to be so expensive it shouldn't even be a factor if you're looking at this price point.

Sorry I hurt your feelings. But this is a gaming machine, and that's how I view this purchase. It's pretty clear that gamers are the target demographic for this product. While we don't have official details, we know that PS5 and XSX will be 10 teraflops and 12 teraflops respectively and that's enough for me to decide that this product is not for me.
Oh, so what you're saying is you know you're wrong and you don't actually have information to support your thoughts so you're gaslighting since there is literally zero factual data to support your hypothesis. Got it; you must love politics. Your failure to understand how to quantify the value of teraflops means you're incapable of being helped. You're happy being ignorant, so bliss on brother.

Keep being a rank one weird champ.
