Costco Member Price
Ongoing but unadvertised "deal" at Costco.
Back in 2018, the FDA
limited the size of packaging for loperamide hydrochoride tablets [fda.gov] (generic Imodium) to encourage safe use of the drug, due its chemical structure as a synthetic opioid. This meant bulk packages of the medicine (e.g., 200-300 caplet bottles) were pulled from open store shelves, most notably at warehouse stores. This also meant it became more difficult to buy the drug at a low price.
H/T to
Redditors on r/Costco [reddit.com], I learned that Costco sells 36-caplet boxes at the pharmacy counter for $1.29, no prescription necessary. You are allowed to purchase one box per day. I personally verified the price and purchase limit at the Newark, DE warehouse.
The price comes out to about 3.6¢ per caplet, far cheaper than the brand name. The next cheapest alternative I found was at BJ's Wholesale Club at $10.99 for 192 caplets (5.7¢ per caplet).
Hopefully this helps out those of us who rely on this medicine for occasional or regular use.

Just to throw it out there.. Look into "Viberzi" It's expensive(there is a coupon to make it 30$ for 90 days from the manufacture) but it changed my life..
Yeah GOVERNMENT! Even if we want consistency they limit it to 36 pills at a time.
