I personally stay away from LG and Samsung refrigerators. As a former LG refrigerator owner here's the reason why I don't recommend them.

I owned a LG refrigerator for 4 years and the compressor went out. I contacted LG customer service and they said it would take 2 weeks for a tech to come out. And when the tech did come out it took another week and two days for the park to come in. So literally with two babies at home I did not have a fridge for 3 weeks in 4 days. How on Earth do we survive with no refrigerator? The only good thing I can say was the compressor part was under warranty for the part but I still had to pay for labor which costed me over $450. You can do a Google and you will see there is a class action lawsuit against LG for the compressor. LG do know that the compressor has an issue and they will not fix it and they continue selling the same compressor for all these new refrigerators.

also I like to add that I try to fix the compressor myself so I took apart the fridge relay compressor and took it to three of my local appliance parts store And as soon as I walked in holding the part they already said oh that's LG right. I wish I could be making this up but all three of the appliance parts store knew what I needed as soon as I walked in. of course all three of them did not have the part two of the three appliance parts store do not recommend Samsung and LG.

so we end up buying a whirlpool from airport appliance here in the San Francisco Bay Area. Even the salesman said avoid LG and Samsung. I'm not sure if they were saying that just so I get the Whirlpool but the appliance parts store employees that talk to me said by Whirlpool or GE.

My LG fridge broke twice in the first six months I bought it. The repair man, who also was contacted with several other brands, told me that LGs break down in the first six months all the time and are his most common call. I lost hundreds in groceries if not more with no compensation. Don't get this garbage fridge.

As a Samsung fridge owner I can concur. They are garbage.

In the market for a fridge just like this one and I can say it's a good price. Not super hot but typical sale price. I'm holding out see if I can find one for under 1700 but it's rare

I agree. My smartthing LG fridge ice maker broke down 3 months after. Stay away from LG if possible.

So i hear to steer clear of lg and Samsung. I'm not a fan of GE. So what's left? Bosch, whirlpool and kitchen aid?

All my appliances are top of the line Samsung. I haven't had a single problem and they are all 3 years old. 4 door fridge, over range microwave, convection oven, dishwasher, washer and dryer (all black stainless).

Hopefully they continue to be problem free. I know they get a lot of bad feedback but I guess I've been lucky.
