Just wanted to shout out that this deal is my own (and first) referral to Slickdeals.

But this JBL Portable Link speaker is indeed pretty great. It's portable, the charger base makes it easy to bring the speaker to another room or to a day-out adventure. I'm not a fan of voice control speakers, so being able to turn that feature off is a big win. The sound quality rivals that of similar speakers from Bose.

At its original price of $180, it was competing in a space where there were probably better options. But at less-than-$100 this is a much more desirable device now. I believe the local retail like Target and Kohl's are matching the discounted price and may make it easier for you to have it hand quickly (as opposed to waiting for shipping/delivery).

I have the jbl 10 and 20 and they both were shipped with faulty charging cables and every week you need to set them up again since they lose the Google account.

I have had several JBL speakers and I do enjoy them. However, with the competition out there for portable speakers, this should be about the standard price for this product. Not to mention, if you have a Bluetooth speaker already, you can still use Google Assistant on your phone that is connected to the speaker anyway. I understand the concept of taking the virtual assistant with you. In theory it is great. But when you already have that Assistant on your phone, the implementation of it on a portable speaker that costs more than a regular Bluetooth speaker is just unnecessary

Have this speaker. Bought it for $130. Love the way it sounds, has USB C, and charging pad.
Can pick it up and bring it anywhere in the house. Unfortunately, I cannot get airplay to work on my laptop but airplay works on my phone.

The google assistant and chromecast works seamlessly.
At $90, it's a no brainer.

I was looking for a portable Bluetooth speaker recently and stumbled upon the Anker Soundcore motion+. Highly recommend it and I can't imagine too much beating it around the $100 - $200 range.

I have 6 20s, 2 10s and a 300 around the house and have never had to re-setup my Google account. there were some nagging issues that seem to have addressed with SW updates. they've been pretty great overall

I would imagine, as the links can. only two though. you can add multiple pairs to a speaker group though

I found this on JBL site that they cannot do stereo pairing, they can be paired to multiply the same mono sound. Sounds weird to me, but that's what it says in FAQ section

That's what I was thinking about my Harmon Kardon Invoke, which is similar to this but with Cortana and cost me only $40 refurbed.

I almost bought one of those on a recent Slickdeal just to play with it. Talked myself out of it because I knew it would end up sitting around

I had both the jbl 10 and 20 and thought they sounded weak. Currently using ue blast and love it. Was considering getting a megaboom for when I want it really loud. Anyone know how this compares to the ue speakers?
