Ryobi 40v String Trimmer Attachment Capable $114 at Home Depot YMMV

YMMV Zip Code 32256. Ryobi 40v String Trimmer that is Attachment Capable for $114 at Home Depot online and in store. Includes battery and charger. Used veteran discount for an extra 10% off to make it a little sweeter.

I am heavily invested in the Expand-it accessories and have been shopping for an attachment capable string trimmer for a long time. This price seems feisty to me.

The Brushless version is on sale for $154 - price lowered which is also feisty.

Brushed and brushless leaf blowers are also included in this deal

Select Brushless mowers also included

40v Brushless Blower is on sale for $154 using OP's zip code as well. $25 off the regular price. I used an incognito window to get that price. Logged into my account after putting in the cart and it remained at that price.

If you live near a Menards, Home Depot matches the menards 11% rebate ( in-store purchases only )

in that case you can get the
$139.99 ryobi with 40 Volt + 4 ah battery & charger

$139.99 - 15.40 rebate = $124.59

I've seen this mentioned before -- does this only work on items both stores carry, or is HD matching this on everything since this %11 rebate is on "*Everything" in Menards? If HD matches it for everything, then I need to start having them do this, since my Menards is literally across the street from my Home Depot. Wink

Is the brushless worth the extra money? Or should I go with cheaper $119? TIA

Brushless is stronger and likely longer battery life. I have basic needs and went brushed. If you have extra $, thick weeds or a large yard, you may want to go brushless.

I just ran my blower attachment, and found it to be better than my prior 2 cycle gas trimmer which seemed to get bogged down with the blower.

Do you think using the word "feisty" incorrectly is witty, or do you really not know what it means?
no need to be feisty about it

Been tracking the brushless for a few months as I'm a new home owner. While I prefer to pick it up in store, I changed my Zip to OP's and managed to order it online. Est shipping is Aug 3

I recommend the brushless over the other two cheaper ones.

The combo has a smaller 2.6Ah battery and only takes . 080 line. You have to use replacement spools or wind them yourself. It is a single string and auto advances. The motor is at the head and you can pivot it 90 degrees to edge. The guard is bulky due to being a combo. It's the least top heavy with the smaller battery up high and motor down low. It's only a single string and smaller .080 which is typically less durable when edging by hard surfaces.

The brushed 4Ah takes either .080 or .095 string and.comes with a bump head. Reloading string is easy, just wind it up and don't have to deal with spools. Compatible with expand-it so the attachment can be swapped with other ends like a blade edger (I have a blade edger and it takes less than a minute to remove and swap out the attachment with no tools). Battery and motor are on the top so a bit more top heavy but fine for most. Biggest problem is the vent gets really hot and rests against your arm. People complain of burns.

The brushless 4Ah is the best and my recommendation. It's variable speed like the brushed but also has a low/high switch and a redesigned trigger so the safety and variable switch is integrated. It comes with two heads (brushed only has one) - the reel easy bump head AND a fixed head where you can use pre-cut line or serrated plastic blades. It takes both .080 and .095 line just like the brushed. The brushless does not have the hot vent against the arm issue like the brushed. Also brushless means more efficient motor, I expect it would give better runtime. It also supports expand-it attachments. The brushless basically solves the hot vent problem of the brushed and gives you a better motor and an extra fixed head.

I actually bought the brushless yesterday before this was posted and have had a chance to use it. Very happy with it, the included Ryobi string is very durable and the bump head works great. Very powerful and people say the run time can easily top an hour depending on how you use it. I decided to keep.the one I bought and do the 11% Menards rebate match since it was pretty close to the 14% savings to buy online and ship from Florida.

The brushless whisper blower is also 14% off if you use the Florida zipcode OP provided. Best deal I've seen for it since it's regularly $179.
https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI.../311417033

My local store has a ton of them and they're not selling as quickly as the brushless string trimmers.

They have a few other 40V items on sale as well using zipcode OP provided. Just search for Ryobi 40V brushless and the search results will show % off.
