oos around me too. im actually waiting for the traeger roadshow to hit my local costco on the 31st. from what ive gathered, they'll have a version of the 22 series called the mesa 22 for $379.
I got to the Costco near me 30 min before close on the last day of the roadshow. He had sold 17 of the Mesa's and was out. The roadshow at the Costco across town is still going on next week but he told me the price was $499 and they only had a couple left. He offered the mini floor model with bundled items for $349 and said that was the best he could do. Maybe it will be different for you.

I got one in January from HD at this price. After hours and hours of great meals coming off this grill I can tell you, this is a steal. On the Traegar site I also got the cast iron grill for it for $35...great for meat searing, and the bolt on shelf.

Automated phone inquiry claimed a few left at local store south of Atlanta at $249. I arrived at store, looked for myself and didn't see any. Checked with front desk and they said sold out for all local stores.

Can any Traegers be modified to allow for a gas option if I wanted to quickly heat the grill for cooking vs. smoking or using pellets? Curious if you are limited to pellets only once making the switch.

Been looking for a solid replacement for my Weber Gas grill and want something with smoking capabilities, just not sure I want to switch over to not being able to use gas at all.

Very nice deal if you can find it in stock!

Smokers are probably the most worth it out of any "grill" types with propane being the least worth it (gas does not equate to flavor thus you must add things in addition to gas to get flavor unlike charcoal/smokers that're inherently pushing flavor). I know propane regular grills is the cheapest method for grilling but I think people really should give smokers a try.. it's not just the flavor, its the extreme tenderness and juiciness they provide that's unsurpassed by other methods.
Quick question:
When I was at Costco I came across one of these, (the small one i'm interested in since I live in an apartment with a balcony.) If I remember correctly the max temperature was 400 something. Can this sear a steak?
I'm a beginner cook - sorry if this is a stupid question.

I wouldnt rely on this for searing steak. It might be possible but i wouldnt suggest this if you plan on using it for that purpose.
