Laptops in this price range right now don't have a 1080p display and mostly have 4gb of ram and a 128gb or 256gb SSD. This has 8gb of soldered RAM, although I wish it had a slot to add in extra, and a 512gb SSD. The i5-1035g1 is a quick/newer quad core CPU opposed to the dual core i3's that I've seen in this price range. The backlit keyboard is a plus. You really only see that on more expensive higher-end laptops. This is a good deal in my opinion.

FWIW I checked this laptop today in store based on the solid specs at this price point (i didn't want to dismiss the tn screen without checking it out in person). Overall I am more than satisfied with the build, the spec and metal (upper) body, backlight keyboard, even the screen. I checked it out side by side with ips screen laptops at the store, it was not bad at all. For using it indoors, you cannot go wrong with it. Sure the ram could be better, screen as well, but at probably higher price point.
Also, it does support power and display out over usb.
