Free Dashpass for 3 months and half price after that for a year. There is also $10 credit if Dashpass activated before 9/30/20.

Got this email. May be targeted.
Activate your complimentary 3 months of DashPass by 9/30/20 and automatically receive a $10 credit toward your next order.1

DashPass, DoorDash's subscription service, provides unlimited deliveries with a $0 delivery fee and reduced service fees on eligible orders over $12.2

After 3 months, you are automatically enrolled in DashPass at half off for the next 9 months. For accounts with more than one cardmember, the subscription will be registered in the name of whoever activates the benefit first.2

How to activate Dashpass

1. Create a DoorDash account if you don't already have one.
2. Add your Freedom card as your default payment method directly into the app. If you use a third-party wallet, we will not be able to offer you the complimentary subscription.
3. Activate your complimentary subscription when prompted, and enjoy!

Activate your complimentary subscription with your Freedom card before 12/31/21. If you activate before 9/30/2020, you will also receive the $10 credit toward your first order.

So unfortunately it seems like any order to be eligible for dashpass benefits must be paid from you Chase credit card.
No debit cards can be used otherwise dashpass benefits on the order are taken off. That sucks since it would've been nice to enroll with your eligible chase card but use other forms of payments for the orders.
Being the case that cashapp has $5 off after 3 doordash purchases and I rather pay with a debit for my orders.

I add my Freedom card and get 3-month complimentary DashPass, but my card is still charged for $4.99 on Dashpass. Did anyone see the same charge on their cards too?
I saw the same thing just now...

Same here. Got the $10 credit added to account and it does say dashpass is complimentary but still charged $4.99

I have a Freedom, Freedom Unlimited, and Slate and created 3 different DoorDash accounts recently. Received the $10 credit on each of them and that $15 summer promo thing for this week. I don't see any $4.99 charges on any of my chase accounts, and in the accounts it says I have Dashpass for 3 months
Did you have to have different phone numbers registered to each DoorDash account?

I think they closed the loophole of $10 for any new DD account made with dashpass via chase freedom. It automatically charged $4.99 for me on two different chase freedoms but I was able to get it cancelled and refunded by chatting w/ CS agent.

So, I was on my second free promo since pandemic and it was still active, then I added my chase freedom card to my account and immediately the offer with all the correct details appeared and i clicked activate. Offer activated and $10 was there immediately and a credit i had before adding the card was also still there from last night's Doordash weekly deals for the convenience that cancelled an item.

So this will make like my 6th free month so far. She the $4.99/mo for 9 months is a great deal.

I had another offer today that said free Dashpass w/ Chase Freedom, which I have connected to my account. I clicked to activate and got the email. Then I went to my DashPass page on the app and it said I paid $4.99 for September 16-October 16. Wtf? I think that happened to me last time too with them subtly charging me.
