I was looking for one of these. Was going to buy it last week, but it just went on sale. I think this was advertised for 999.99 at Costco last year, but I don't think it will go that low.

This isn't true. They "recommend" it in their video to "take some of the load off the wall" and make it easier to hang them up, but it's definitely not a requirement in any way. It says on their website that they're rated for 1.5x "capacity" - and given that it fits all models, this must mean ~165 lbs. There are plenty of photos of guys hanging them up off the floor completely without issues, which is what I intend to do as well.
I stand corrected. I will say I've seen at least a dozen people who have the wall hangers and all of them use the floor for support.

Word - I've seen the same. Thank you for the cordial Internet exchange. I hope you have an excellent weekend.

Is this kind of Jack just good as an alternative to a jack and stands, for changing tires and basic stuff? I was thinking of getting a 2-post lift but in my garage I'm wondering if I'd be able to get it very high anyway, which is the main benefit of a lift in my eyes.

And for those of you wanting to know how much your car weighs....
This would work great for most cars and light to mid sized SUV's. Anything bigger (Think Tahoe, Full size Trucks, etc..) get the 7000lbs and probably some sort of extension as these vehicles are also higher off the ground.

I bought this last time from Costco. Came with the rubber blocks and handles. I rarely use this and I wrench on cars every other day. These mofos are heavy

Good deal. This would pay for itself pretty quickly.
If that lift cost more than your car, it will likely pay for itself quickly. But unless you change your oil weekly, have a fleet of vehicles, rotate your tires weekly, then how can it pay for itself quickly.

Does Costco carry the 7,000 lb capacity one?
They do, i purchased the 7000 lb one back in May and it was 1250 before tax w/ free shipping. 1200 for this deal is not that great. Those accessories they tack on are unnecessary.

Can you crawl under the car with these?

Or, after you lift the car, you still need to throw some jack stands under the car for safety reasons.

What if the hydraulic part fails (similar to a floor jack) while you are under there. I wonder if this device is for "lifting" only, but not recommend to go under the car without jack stands for safety.

I might bite. I've wanted something like this, but didn't want to get one of the models that requires it to be permanently bolted into the concrete slab.

Looks like a good "Second Stimulus Check" purchase.

There's a mechanical lock that you can leave vehicle elevated indefinitely from their website, probably similar concept to a hydraulic lift where once you get to desired height you lower it a bit until the mechanical lock engages.
