I love AOE2 but that prestige goes to Starcraft and Starcraft 2
You are both mistaken. It's C&C Generals.

It's best if you educate yourself on how to do it, so you don't take the advice of someone and maybe they end up being wrong. These are old games though, so most laptops would probably run them... however... A general recommendation I'd have is that you might be able to get a good Thinkpad off of eBay with decent specs for $100-$250.

For you to figure it out for yourself though, you should look up the Recommended Specs to run the game. Take note of what it says... Then compare the CPU, RAM, Graphics Card, and all that to the "Recommended Specs" for this game, to see if the laptop can run it.

There are also sites like "CanYouRunIt" that you can use to check whether the computer you are on can run the game, but sometimes the tool it uses is blocked by your antivirus, adblock, etc... so, again, it's best if you educate yourself on how to look things up for yourself. Here's a general "Thinkpad" eBay search: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_...rome&rt=nc

There's also DiscountElectronics... I know they offer their own limited warranty on refurb laptops. They're likely a little pricier than a Thinkpad from eBay. https://discountelectronics.com/used-laptops/

Honestly though, I used my grandfather's old laptop probably 15 years ago to play the Command and Conquer games... and it worked fine for that. Games were a lot less demanding back then. So, again, you likely don't need to spend much at all for a laptop that could run games from this era. I'd be more concerned about the battery of an old laptop though, hinge issues they might have from wear and tear, etc.

You clearly haven't read all the comments. You might want to do that before tagging people and opening your mouth

Anyone knows of any site that has the sound effects from AoE? I have always like their sounds. Wanted to use some of those sounds on the phone for various things.

You could make the argument that AoE 2 is the greatest RTS game of all time and I wouldn't argue.
No love for AoE 3? I had fun with all of the different expansions.

Says it's "Out of stock " . It's digital so I guess they ran out of ones and zeros.

Same here. I call bullshit. It was probably a price mistake and they just don't want to honor it.

Oh I just started playing this again from the HD version... I'm not good enough for ranked but dangit is it fun to play against computers... It's well polished for a modern-day RTS game.
Maybe check out some tutorials on YouTube from T90Official, Spirit of the Law and Resonance Man. They have build orders for whatever strategy you're trying to do (castle rush, economy boom, etc) or just basic strategies overall. I love playing online even though I'm not good but the comp is good to get some reps against.
