After 6 months on cricket you can request your free cricket phone to be unlocked

RSIM15 Instructions

This is what worked for me:

I activated Cricket service, set up the phone under my Apple ID, and also updated to the latest iOS. All that with Cricket SIM in tray, as per usual. [Did try to power on the phone for the first time with my preferred carrier's SIM (T-mobile) just to test if the phone comes unlocked but no luck there. It's locked.

To work with your carrier of choice, try RSIM plus carrier's SIM in tray. If you get the pop-up menu, code the ICCID as per instructions. I did not get the menu and was unable to change the ICCID that way.

The workaround was to remove the carrier's SIM and inserted Cricket SIM but with RSIM still in the tray. Then go to "Settings" - "Cellular" - "SIM Applications" - "Edit ICCID" and enter the most recent ICCID number (you can find one here: https://geveystore.com/).

After coding is done, remove Cricket's SIM, insert your carrier's SIM (again, with RSIM still in the tray), and you should be able to register on the carrier's network. I think I needed an extra reboot or two and had to enter Apple ID / Password to proceed.

After the phone connects on your desired carrier, be sure to navigate to Settings - Cellular - Cellular Data Network to ensure the APN settings for your carrier are entered correctly. For T-Mobile, use info found here: https://www.t-mobile.com/support/...ple-iphone

2 for $90? I thought each was $60 in service, so 2 for $120 no?
Because the 2nd line is $30.

I think the headphone with lightning port alone is like $30 from apple. My sister broke her last week and was almost read to but it at that price from apple (I found one new in one of my iphone boxes and gave her)

My friend bought iPhone 7 from cricket 2 years ago and he said it came with Earpods with lightning port, usb adapter and lightning cable

It probably was $30 on launch... that's a very scammy price, like usual. I see it's $9 via Apple at the moment. https://www.apple.com/shop/produc...-MMX62AM/A

Have been deliberating over this free iPhone 7, or the 8+ (and extra costs + fees) for the parents... the rub is that I would need them to use a compatible R-SIM, which I have had trouble finding... and also I would likely need them to avoid ever clicking to update their iOS version, since I imagine iOS updates are what "break" the temporary unlock that R-SIM does. Maybe it's possible to avoid iOS system update popups with jailbreak, but it seems like too many conditional steps to get it working on another carrier

I guess I'll keep waiting until their phones break, or there's some crazy good Android phone deal

edit: It occurs to me that Apple supposedly stopped selling iPhone 8 etc when the iPhone SE 2 came out, so we may see more price drops or similar inventory clearance deals for the 8

I installed "Block OTA Update" profile (betaprofiles.com) and I never be bothered with iOS update prompt anymore.

I'm on iOS 14 Beta with my iPhone SE using Rsim without any issues beside the normal stuff with Rsim like group text issues.

Also porting Tracfone like for this deal, hope I don't get any issues since it's another prepaid line 🤞🏻

This is a good buy for anyone looking to buy a new phone. Both Google and apple let you trade-in iPhone 7 for a little over $100. So buying this is essentially a $30 coupon haha.

If possible could you please PM me which RSIM you used, and if it's still around - the product link? I'm having trouble finding one compatible with current iOS update and iPhone 7

Yes, see my post on the second page. RSIM14 works just fine. What sometimes does not work is the RSIM popup menu (needed to change the ICCID code). The trick is to change the ICCID using RSIM and the original (Cricket) SIM card inserted into the phone first. Go to Settings - Cellular - SIM Applications and change the ICCID. Once that's done, remove the Cricket SIM, insert the SIM of your choice (but keeping RSIM in the tray at all times) and you should be all set with the carrier of your choice.
Bro last time I used an RSIM it broke in half, are they still super flimsy lol? If you have any recommendations, let me know, i have another locked iPhone SE that i could use

The original seller I got it from doesn't sell it anymore, but this is the same one I got.

Just curious about the porting in number. I'm using a Tracfone account just to get the iPhone 7 for $60. Should I expect a email from either company or should it a simple process? I have my email filtered, so I just wanted to know if I need to confirm anything for the transaction to go through.
