If they sell mag15 $1600 at launch, someone was selling the identical laptop for $900 6 months later. This laptop might have very high depreciation rate.

It's already several hundred above its price in China but that's to be expected. Couldn't find one to buy in China :/

I doubt this laptop will go down much further because of the design and specs. 1600 was overpriced launch price from a generally overpriced company to begin with.

And what laptop is worth much after a few years? They all depreciate rapidly. For example, check 2015 dell xps 13 ebay bids ($210ish) and thats before shipping and fees.

If you have an operating system lying around or don't mind buying grey market, you can take $100 off the price.

Ship date is middle of September so this is a pre-order. You might want to add that to the title.

Looks very interesting.

The dead pixel guarantee requires getting windows, which doesn't make sense to me.

Anyone know of any other light reasonably priced laptops with ryzen 7 CPUs?

Looked interesting till I saw that it doesn't do display through usb-c, so can't use a single cable to connect to a usb-c monitor. That just killed it for me.

How does it require windows? You could just install Linux.

Care to give some examples? I'd love to get one. Ever since amd 4000 series launched, I'm looking for portable ultrabook with great display and great battery life. This particular laptop weighs about 3 lbs with great display - antiglare, atleast 300 nits, 100% srgb, 72% NTSC and 76% adobe rgb, battery of 91 Whr and ryzen 4800h which is top of the line CPU.

The problem with a laptop like this on a forum like this is that people are going to assume you must want a graphics card. Nobody can comprehend that this kind of a laptop is an excellent choice for the professional. Excellent battery life, great display, great build, also the Vega IGPU would be great for any video editor not named Premiere.

I'm not saying this is a bad machine, i've had two tongfang machines, and support and bios updates just suck.

Just search slickdeals, For $300 more you will get a far superior machine, better CPU, amazing GPU, better display (120Hz) better warranty/support, walk in and return if you don't like it, and frequent bios updates. With these tong fang machines you get one or two bios updates and then you are done. Yes it's $300 more, but if your spending $1k you can most likely afford $300 more.

Kind of expected what you'll suggest. I got this laptop last week from best buy and infact typing on it. Big difference - 14 inch vs 15.6 inch screen. As much as I hate buying from less known company like eluktronics, there is no 15.6 inch amd 4000 series ultrabook out there with great display and battery life. There is no other option if you want bigger screen.
