Not too well apparently if you look at the reviews for just the Craftsman .75" stud finder by itself. Though I assume the level is just a level...
If you're wanting a dependable stud finder, the 1.5" depth ones seem to be a bit better reviewed
for metal studs it works the same or less than a 15 cent magnetic piece sold at harborfreight.

Ugh every store within 100 miles shows it at the $10 price except for the close one in town.

Average score of 3.6 out 5 stars in 107 reviews on the Craftsman site but a lot of them seem to be 'Promotional' reviews. https://www.craftsman.com/product...-detection
A basic Zircon is about $12 .

Had this. It sucks. Just use a good magnet to find existing drywall screws/nails - or if you need real precision, the Franklin (Pro)Sensors are pretty much best in class for DIY and home jobs.

This, I have the 1.5" one and it's the best cheapo one I've ever used. I think I got it for $16 or so on a slickdeal a year or two ago.
