I picked up a similar one from a previous SD. It's ok, but not something I'd use for finer work. The markings are just silkscreened on, so they'll wear off in time. Also, the measurements don't start at the end of the rule, so you'll need to find the 0 point every time. The aluminum itself is sturdy and the triangle shapes means that it's more likely to stay straight and maybe survive a few drops. But, the corners are shard, so plan on hitting it with a file to make it safe.
Do I need it? Nope.
Will I ever use it? Probably not.
Will I regret not buying it if the need arises? Always.
Will I buy it? Obviously.
Will I forget that I bought this if by chance I do need it? Absolutely.

Thanks OP! 😎

I have no use for this, but oh it is so cheap!

Fond memories of my mechanical drawing course 55 years ago.

Great ruler for out in the field in construction. Can attest it is sharp on edges. Metric for the win. "Inches are for Carpenter's and whores"

Every engineering scale I've ever used works like that ... It's pretty much necessary if you're actually drafting with it.

Even if you don't expect to ever use it, clip it in your shirt pocket and it will be assured to attract the ladies.
