  • Dock contains two bi-directional 40 Gb/s Thunderbolt 3 ports, each of which utilizes the reversible USB Type-C connector and also supports 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 and dual-bandwidth DisplayPort 1.2, allowing you to connect up to two 4K/60 Hz displays simultaneously, or one 5K Thunderbolt 3 display. Additionally, you can daisy-chain up to six total devices from a single Thunderbolt 3 port. As one Thunderbolt 3 port is used to interface with your host system, the other is used for daisy chaining.
  • Includes: 2.3' / 0.7m Thunderbolt 3 Cable; Power Adapter; Power Cord.

Great for Mac users, but their Windows Support is lacking. I had a fun ol' time finding the correct ASMEDIA USB 3.1 drivers for this (You can't just download them from ASMedia). The Generic Microsoft ones sort of work, but sometimes crash. Also Firmware updates are ONLY issued for Macintosh. I have several of these, lucky we have a Mac Mini is the office which I used for a firmware update on all of or units.

If I had to do it again, I'd buy a OWC, or an HP one (I have one of the HP units, and it's rock solid once you install it's bazillon updates).
I have a couple of these at home. They are pretty good, but there's a big caveat.

We got both of ours from Amazon, about a month apart (after being pretty happy with the first unit).

Once we plugged the second one in, we started having networking problems on both computers. It took a while to figure it out, but it turned out that both of the networking devices (Thunderbolt Ethernet Slot 1) had the same MAC address. As a result the router was giving them the same IP.

It took a bit of troubleshooting with CalDigit support to get them to send me a couple of new units, and the new ones have different MAC addresses, and have been working flawlessly.

Aside from the fact that no two networking adapters should ever have the same MAC address, the process of proving to CalDigit that there was a problem was a bit annoying. At one point I even had to connect the ethernet cable between the two units (at their request).
It takes an entire desktop setup of multiple monitors, keyboard, mouse, Ethernet, audio, external GPU, card reader, USB hub and charger and whatever other peripherals you have and turns it into s single cable solution. It's incredibly useful for a certain segment of users who go from desktop to portable very frequently.

Why is this getting downvoted? The previous lowest price was only $10 off this one.

I received free shipping. It's on the product page, free shipping to the lower 48 states.

Good deal. Solid product. We got a ton in the office, and our IT will probably buy more of these as people work from home.

For those that don't want to spend this much and don't mind a lower quality but still decent alternative TB3 dock: https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/t/14216087 .

Yes, if you have a thunderbolt 3 port on your laptop, it's an easy way to have a dock with all these available connections. Great for turning your laptop into a full on desktop. If you need the ports of course.

Had mine for about 5 months with no issues.
3 different HP laptops with thunderbolt, all good.
Also ran a raspberry pi through it.

I wonder how much time does an average user save daily using something like this? I understand that this is a good product and what not but the price just doesn't make sense.
