I enjoyed this game very much, worth $40 for sure. Note that this game is not a complete story. There will be a part 2, or even a part 3 coming out later.
They expanded heavily on the original. And they made it more modern. I question how well a traditional JRPG would do today. I don't think it'd nearly be as popular as FF7 was previously. In the remake they took an area that was one or two screens, and made them into whole levels. So this transforms what was previously a 5hr part of the original game... into a 30-40hr game in FF7 remake.

I got to the last disc on ps1 and my save was corrupted. I gave up and never bothered playing it again. I enjoyed advent children and it almost got me back into it.. I might finally give this a go.. or should I force myself to get through the original first. Hmmmmm

Great game, was initially disappointed when I found out it would split into multiple parts, but the amount of content in part 1 is definitely enough to where you don't feel cheated as if you bought only part of a game
