Good price, but if you or a friend/family are in the military or a veteran the new one is $179 in store. After all is said and done, it's just over $20 more for a much longer warranty for both the tool and the battery.

anyone know what the return policy is for reconditioned items? Did a quick search to see if they specified anything for returns of reconditioned items but didn't see anything.

Are both the trimmer and the battery reconditioned, or just the trimmer?

Never mind, I see in the Q&A that both are reconditioned...

I got the new set at $169 before 11% rebate in June. This refurbished one is only $11 cheaper but with much shorter warranty. A new one is now $179. It would be just $20 more than this refurbished one if you are in the area eligible to the 11% rebate. For 4 more years warranty and the new condition, I think the additional $20 is well worth it. If you are not eligible to the 11% rebate, then this may be a decent deal.

Thanks op, got this refurb package last year and it's been great. Wouldn't be surprised if the battery was new and just the trimmer was refurb. Both looked and have performed as new.

Any thoughts on this model vs the HTA2000 which attaches to the Power Head+? It's much longer, not sure if that's going to be an issue for shrubs that are down low, close to you, etc.

But for how infrequent I'd be doing this, seems like I could cope with HTA2000 and it gives me that extra reach.

This must vary some, the new one is 199 by me. So even at 178.10 vs 139.30, this feels like a good savings. Certainly giving me something to think about.

The price may vary with region. It shows $199 in the product list of HD's website, but the price drop down to $179 once I click on the link to go to the product page. Anyway, the 11% rebate is for in-store purchase only. You should see the price in store.

Wish it was by me, I would get this and pair it with the brushless trimmer tool only for 100 on ebay. Hoping I can find one after the summer ends.
