Great, now I just need to find a speculum
The flashlight should help you find it.

What exactly do you use it for everyday? Is it different from a keychain flashlight?
Industrial mechanic by trade. All I use to see in hard to access spots or to look for imperfections--sort of a different lens design that minimizes glare.

As a standard pen light you may be disappointed.

In for one - I'm a nurse and needed a new penlight for neuro assessments, thanks for the heads up! Now if I can keep it from getting stolen... :-)

If you get one of these open it right away and check for battery corrosion. I would not put them back in if you are not using.

They pack these with Duracell's that will corrode. It is difficult to clean because it gets into the switch.
I made a comment a while back in reference to Duracells... The comment was that I am 50 years old and i have only had 4 battery failures in my entire life in which the product was destroyed due to batteries going bad.. Each and every time it was a duracell battery that caused the problem... I will never buy Duracell again.. I was down voted and others implied i was embellishing .. But i was not.. Duracells suck..

I got three, which is more or less the number of this model I've already lost. Nice to have some spares. Have one in my pocket now (G10, the only difference being the 20 comes with a clip that I pull off).

Really ? I could not find their policy for this. Only them show how to clean up after the fact.

It would be great if they actually do reimburse for that.

For finding stuff under beds, in between car seats, working on computers, home repairs, and lots of other stuff where a concentrated little beam helps focus your view. Probably not great for night walks and such, but great for just about everything else.
I feel like for most of those things mentioned a regular good flashlight like a Streamlight would work just as well if not better.... and in addition too works great for "night walks and such". I think the original question is a good question. What specific activities necessitate a very defined beam edge with very little light spillover outside of the circle?

The title says INSPECTION BEAM flashlight. The beam is designed to inspect inside dark enclosed spaces. Wiring, plumbing, engines, electronics, joists, ducts or similar. It is also good for reading labels in the dark. Too bright for medical use. It is literally a spot light with no spread. Anyone who does not understand this, does not need one. Burglars excepted.

This mirrors my experience. I've had several devices "killed" by Duracell. When I was a kid they were the best batteries you could get. Now, I avoid them like the plague.

Coast CS is excellent. But I have 6 of these and they are a real value and have 3 settings. Hi. Lo. Strobe. The hi is very impressive. Build quality is very good, and 2 for $10.

Oh God. Please don't use this for neuro assessments. Buy a quality penlight with a firefly/moonlight mode like a Nitecore MT06MD or Lumintop IYP365.

I can echo what several other users have said. These are excellent lights for tight spaces. Tight beam, single button with a single lighting mode, and no extra bulk to get in the way of your vision.

I typically use these to look down long stretches of sub-inch ID tubing, and they're fantastic. I've got a few different colors for higher visibility on the benchtop.

Definitely worth picking up a few at this price for the ones that eventually get "lost" when someone borrows one. Wink
