Always for new customers.
The regular price $10 monthly for 1GB LTE data is expensive in 2020.
No, it's not. Name two carriers/MVNOs with 1GB plans that feature unlimited calls and texts for less than $10/mo. Bonus points if they feature unlimited throttled data after 1GB.

Just want to add to others posts regarding excellent customer service.
I've ported my lines to tello twice over the last 2 years and they are great. Courteous and fast reps answer the phone. No problems. Put two neighbors on Tello as well.

I think Tello uses Sprint. But now that sprint has merged with tmobile, what's going to happen?
It will still use Sprint network. Could be acquired by DISH soon as DISH has acquired all Ting Mobile's customers that used Sprint network.

Rep for the AmEx part. Have 2 tello accounts, an extra $5/off per bill is nice.

Liberty Wireless is having $100 yearly plan, which come out around $8.33/m for unlimited talk/text + 1GB LTE. Hard capped data but not like it matter for most ppl buying that tier cuz you already know your usage before pulling the trigger, but I give tello a slight edge for that. However, Tello is extremely picky with their device list and you will see not much ppl can jump in. I was going to but my device is not compatible. Liberty is GSM running T-Mobile, definitely better than legacy Sprint.

Oh and they have great customer support through email as well.

Does liberty wireless support conditional call forwarding (if one wants to use google voice for voicemail)?

Sorry that's not fun.

Though, for me, they have been far and away the best customer service I've had on a cell carrier. I've tried many MVNOs, from visible, mint, cricket, at&t prepaid, and several under TracFone. Tello was heads and shoulders above others in terms of response time and helpfulness. Now, if only they didn't have the limited sprint-native network and dumb sprint sim card setup (model numbers, etc).
Tello has been really reliable for me, and customer service (the one time I needed to ask them a question when I bought a new phone) was great. But I have to give the award to Ting, you call them up and a human being picks up immediately. No recorded welcome message, we'll be with you in a minute, press 3 for blah blah -- just *ring* "Hello, how can I help you?"

I realize that this sounds unbelievable in the year 2020.

Nice, yeah that's pretty sweet. I'm happy these lower cost carriers can do this.

I wish one of them supported AT&T though (I personally like them the best for their GSM openness and coverage strength). Verizon is more restrictive but getting better, and T-Mobile has less coverage where I need it but getting better.
