I love Visio TVs for everything except their sound quality... that being said, I feel like buying their branded speakers doesn't make sense... idk could just be me
I have a Vizio TV. It's my first and will be my last one. This thing sucks. The "Smartcast" service is horrible. I've had to hard reset that thing at least a handful of times now. Sometimes I turn my TV and only get sound but no picture so I have to turn it off and on again. It has a delay when turning on of at least 5 seconds so I'm not sure if it's on or not when I push the On/Off button on my remote.

Only reason why I even have this TV is because of the fact that it was a house warming gift from my mother. Other than that I would go back to my Samsung TV that I had. Originally paid $1400 for a 46" but it also had true 120hz motion so it was buttery smooth and it NEVER failed me once nor gave any issues. Been thru so many Superbowl parties and has always impressed. Only reason why I no longer have it is because I had to move from Hawaii to Vegas. Too expensive to ship.

Makes me wary of the Vizio brand name everytime I see their products. So many people I hear saying that speakers cut out and connectivity issues. I'd be willing to pay a little more money for a better brand unless if this is a deal that couldn't be missed.

Tv connects via optical cable to the sound bar
For Atmos I have not been able to get it working with built-in TV apps. If it's a new TV it can likely connect via ARC and work with Atmos on the TV apps. On an older TV you want to plug in an Atmos-supporting streaming box to the HDMI-In on the Soundbar, and then the HDMI-out goes into the TV. I have it setup this with an HDMI-splitter and Atmos works with the AppleTV and FireStick4K.

If you want Atmos, you have to connect via ARC (lossy) or eARC (high quality). If you connect via optical you will not get Atmos, period.

Wasn't the 5.1.4 on sale recently for $300? The only difference is the two rear speakers have secondary upward facing speakers. Waiting for that to be on special again.
The lowest i see in camel camel camel is $619 for 5.1.4

Then camel is incorrect. Costco had the 5.1.4 for 300 not too long ago.

I honestly think they just have bad QC. My grandmother had one since 2010 that's still working fine. My parents have one that right after a year, they local dimming zones started going out (it's hilarious because when I contacted them for my parents, they were like "alright, it's not worth fixing so we will just replace it" and then when they found out it was out of warranty by a month, they recommended I fix it...even though they said it wasn't worth it lol.) Their top of the line stuff looks good (though I prefer OLED) but seeing how that dimming zone started behaving, because more went out over time, I'd never let myself get one if I was on a budget when I could get a TCL or Hisense

I can confirm Malo51 is correct. I should know, I snagged the Costco deal when it was listed some month(s) back. Even bought a Costco membership to skip the surcharge. Honestly don't ask me why I'm lurking this post when I already have the better one...

This model supports 4K HDMI right? Might be time to upgrade from my SB3651.

I got the costco deal and I am pretty satisfied . More than that my wife is supper happy as she made me get rid of my 5.1.2 AMP along with the wires running all over the living room.

The bass could be better , it is just too boomy for my taste, but for the money I paid it is well worth it. Also I see a lot latency with the vizio app making it difficult to use but I have made my peace with it.

I have this exact one and I want to get this out there for everyone.

This has so many issues working with pass through. Doesn't work at all with my Apple TV 4K, and had a bunch of issues with my Xbox One X. Certain content requires you to restart the sound bar even. From what forums point to, it has to do with HDMI compliance issues and the firmware updates just don't work. To get Dolby Atmos to work, you have to use pass through HDMI, meaning the device needs to go to the sound bar, then sound bar to the TV. I've bought certified Monoprice HDMI cables, hoping this would work, but just doesn't.

Hopefully others have feedback with the sound bar, but I've tried everything i could find. Sound quality is great though and it works great in audio groups when casting with Google Home stuff.

Overall yes, I'm very satisfied with the 5.1.4 G6 model from the Costco deal (but nothing is perfect). I actually originally purchased the Harmon Kardon enchant 800 soundbar for $250 in a earlier Slickdeals listing and was REALLY disappointed. So many bugs and the sound was meh without purchase the $500 subwoofer. For $50 more the VIZIO G6 is an absolute steal in comparison (subwoofer, soundbar, satellite speakers). The whole system was super simple to setup and worked better out of the box than the HK soundbar did 🤣 the sound is really great compared to my previous Polk audio bar+sub (but I'm no audio buff). I do wish satellite speakers could offer a more noticeable surround sound. I can definitely hear the directional sound when watching quality nature programs on Netflix, but much less so on most other "Atmos compatible" programs (I haven't tinkered with the numerous settings yet so it may just need some fine tuning). I agree The subwoofer is also a bit much but that's something I've also been meaning to tune down (hope there's a way...)

Yeah I'm using a Yamaha sound bar atm and I'm looking into getting into the home theater stage and been stuck between this and something like a 599 to 999 Klipsch theater setup .

My GF the opposite says she wouldn't mind the cords ( I don't believe it ) but said she doesn't like loud . However I do like loud for music purpose and movies med range ya know . I think something like the 5.1.4 Vizio should please me and her as a entry level into theater , but I know the Klipsch deals I see posted would for sure put me where I want to be for awhile ..
