Thank you -- I'm wearing a Pebble now, so it's useful to hear from someone evaluating from that perspective. I tried an Amzfit Bip (loved the battery life, too many other tradeoffs) and a Versa2 (didn't find anything to like about it except the display, and hated how they're nickel and diming all the time, and DANG that awful battery life made it seem like WatchOS)... I know this doesn't have the greatest battery life, but I think I can handle plugging it in every other day in return for an actual smartwatch.
That was my thoughts exactly. Starting in 2013- Went from a Gen1 Pebble, to an LG G Watch R, then a Gear S3 Frontier, then an Apple Watch Series 3 (brief return to IOS), then a Fitbit Versa 2, and now the Active 2. The Active 2 is BY FAR the most non-glitchy, reliable, and best looking watch out of all of them. It's also the first time I have not been waiting for the "next best thing" to be released. Works flawlessly with my Note 10+.

The silicone strap broke down quick on mine. At least they're easy to replace.

Most stores don't price match to a club membership style outlet.
I had no problem price matching this deal at Best Buy today.

I stand corrected, I remember this used to not be the case with a lot of price match policies.

Does Best Buy match the prices of a Warehouse club?
Yes. We do match the prices of Warehouse clubs as long as the Warehouse club is a local retail competitor, has an identical immediately available product and all other price match criteria are met. If the Warehouse club website price requires a membership ID or login to view, price match is only available in a Best Buy store (not via phone or chat) and must be a live offer (not a screenshot).

I've had this watch for a year, and do workouts almost every day. At the 30 minute mark, every single time, it always says I burnt 222 calories. It is the exact same whether I am doing high intensity cardio, or low intensity yoga.

I've been following Samsung threads on this issue. It is a common complaint.
No issues here with the 3 watches I've used. Do you have continuous heartrate monitoring enabled? I leave that on 24/7, so perhaps that's the difference.

Main issue I've always had is the watches doubling my heartrate once resting goes below a certain value - somewhere in the 40-50 range it will start to show twice the correct. A couple times it tripled it. Switching continuous off and back on fixes it for a bit...an issue on the Galaxy Watch, and the bluetooth and LTE Active2's, no matter the update level...

It's also possible that it's losing your heartrate. Watch to make sure it's continuously updating on-screen. As a test, you can try to wear it on the bottom of your forearm instead of near the wrist. This works for me also, but still gets me digit-doubling (seems to be a software issue, not measurement). I have lean arms, so I'm not sure how well that would work for someone on the higher end of a bmi spectrum That spot is where some other heartrate straps go, so I imagine it would work for most people troubleshooting.

My 45-60 minute activities are 600-1000 kcal reported depending on whether it's a 135bpm day, or a 175bpm day.

Wow, I wish mine would read correctly like that. I just turned on continuous heart rate measurement. I had mine set to every 10 minutes. I dont know if that will change things though, because it seems to measure continuously while working out. What workout activity do you select? I usually select circuit training or other workout.

Most common is cycling, which does provide a consistent position of the watch against my arm. Running also seems fine. On the other extreme, training like a boxer or American-football athlete would be more jarring and could lose your heartrate frequently.

I agree that it should switch to continuous HR automatically when in workout mode. Useful troubleshooting where you can make educated conclusions would require further data gathering and tracking to identify the cause of your issues. I do wish all the smartwatches would do this better than they do (The popular Apple watch has quirks too), but everyone's products are still improving.

You can also export some data from Samsung Health from the phone for review on a PC (it is JSON iirc?), but the data is far less frequent than once per second.

The new one has the same processor and battery as Active 2, and only a slight RAM bump 0.75GB -> 1GB, but Watch 3 cost much more at $399. so this is a far better value, if don't care about the design
Watch 3 is stainless steel compared to aluminium on this. Also the physical rotating bezel makes the UI much easier than the virtual bezel. Also is fall detection exclusive to watch 3?

Do you have to be logged into sams for them to match it? Or just show them Slickdeals?

Anyone have experience using this with Strava?

Specifically, do you have to have your phone on you in order for the app to work on the watch or can you leave the phone at home and later sync your workout after you get home?

Thanks in advance!
