I have these. The noise cancellation is better than my WH-1000xm2... but that could just be because the earbuds create a pretty good seal (for me) so it a combination from both passive + active noise cancellation.

My only issue is i have some connection issues in Windows. Half of the time, it doesn't pair unless I reboot my computer while the earbuds are on. The other half of the time, it pairs as you would expect.

I did a factory reset on the earbuds and it still does the same thing. I have other bluetooth headsets and none of them have this issue.

How would these be for working out
Not the best. Biggest complaint I have is they very easily will slip out of your ear. Perfectly fine for a loud airplane ride but almost unusable for working out.

These are over all THE BEST tw earbuds. ANC is best in class sound is rich and great bass.

Sony should really work on their CS and product name.

Have you tried the JLab True Air? Sound and fit are really good. Wondering if that's one of the brands you referred to.
No, not even close. I tried soundpeat true engine 2, soundcore liberty pro 2, liberty air 2, airpod pro. All can't beat this cheap $50 earbud sound/versatility.

Fiil TX1 is highly regarded as the best TWS under $100.

The jlab is meh. Bass boasted, 0 clarity.

Why do almost none of these true wireless buds have a freaking mute button? Got the Klipsch at Costco for 89 and the sound is incredible, but connection can be flaky depending on where my phone is, like what pocket it's in. Way better then even the airpods pro, which hurt the fark out of your ears

I have these and the AirPod Pros. Make sure that you can wear these in your ears without them hurting ... they completely fail for me at "being wearable" which is a pretty big part of having earbuds, lol.
These do have better sound, though.

This might be an unpopular opinion here but I think this headphone is over hyped and over priced. I owned one since January and really tried to like it. I tried everything to improve the ANC affect, firmware update, factory reset, upgraded foam tip and even RMA to Sony for a 2nd pair. In the end, the ANC remain very weak. Majority of the sound isolation come from the foam tip acting like a pair of ear plug with a tight seal on your ear. The tell tale sign is when I switch from ANC to normal mode(ambient sound off), there's virtually no difference in amount of background noise. The ambient sound pass through feature is over hyped as well I feel. It add a layer of white noise over whatever you are listening to but the level of ambient sound coming through isn't that high. Fitting can differ greatly from person to person so online review is not going to help you determine if this model will fit you. For example, with my ears, an airpod will have zero chance of staying put but this sony fit well but not very comfortable. I can still wear them until the battery die which is about 3 to 4 hour and it's always the right ear that go out first. I guess the amount of tapping affect battery life and I use the right side for media control and tends to get more tabs. 3 to 4 hour is way shorter than what they advertise for and won't make it through a work shift for me. In general, I find every aspect of this headphone decent but not great. The few pairs of wireless headphone I own each fill a role. Usually I go with a AKG N700NC when I want great ANC and ambient sound passthrough. I use a pair of Boss Soundsport free when I don't need ANC but want a bit more portability and still get great sound quality. I use trekz titanium for workout and outdoor where I can sacrifice a bit of sound quality for true ambient sound pass through. The sony don't really excel in any field and is now seldom used.

Hah, Oddly, I too have the wh-1000XM2 and these. Wondering if I should upgrade to the XM4 coming out soon.

On a separate note, my WF-1000XM3s don't have the connectivity issue you're speaking of, it connects to Win10 pretty seamlessly. If I need to switch it to my phone, I just connect to the buds using my phone, and it switches seamlessly, no issues there.

WX-1000XM3 headphone blows the hell out of these for sure. Love my WX-1000XM3. ANC is godly. If I want critical listening, that's what I use. I tune it to be like studio monitor headphone, similar to audio technica MX50bt. The default is muddy/very bass heavy.

This WF-1000XM3 earbud is pretty mediocre on sound and ANC. Not versatile enough, no waterproof/water resistant, no wingtips for sports, and actually not comfortable to use due to its size. Means it falls out if you rock your head hard enough. The design/size is similar to Soundcore liberty 2 pro and I returned that coz it's bulky and I ended up keeping my cheapo Fiil TX1. I can actually sleep with the earbud on my ear (not great but I can do it). You can't do that with Sony earbud. It also sound better than Airpod pro and the soundcore. Pretty absurd if you ask me. But, it is what it is.

Comfort goes to galaxy buds. Sound quality is 100% these.
thanks. yeah, have the galaxy bud+, didn't like the sound that much. thought airpod had fuller sound. also didn't think it was that comfortable neither. may be ear plug style doesn't fit me. i thought airpod was also more comfortable, as i can wear that for a long time. bud+ battery is the only reason i hang on to them. can use it for work without charging in between. will pass on this until the price drops further...hopefully.

actually came in decent shape. did wipe down all the ear tips before trying them on. sound is indeed measurably better than galaxy buds plus, imo. but they do hurt my ears after wearing them for a while. was able to program volume control function on the ear buds. really want to keep them for listening to music, but afraid need to go back. :-(
