Appears to let you add customizations to RAM, Processor, and Video card.

You can change to a wifi 6 card at no additional cost when customizing the laptop.

GTX 1650 is in this price range and this doesn't even come with a SSD.

The advantage is of being able to select NVIDIA RTX graphics to better future-proof it over the Best Buy's NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti Max-Q version (normally $900, $750 when on sale). Otherwise the HP configuration is $1040 with the same CPU, SSD and display. HP also offers free upgrades to a white keyboard backlight and Intel WiFi 6 while BB does not. Meanwhile HP charges $40 extra to upgrade a single 4GB stick of RAM to 8GB but oddly charges $90 - not $80 - to upgrade both 4GB sticks to two 8 GB sticks...go figure!

I always wondered why is 1050 kept for so long, but the 1070 is long forgotten.

My guess would be that the 1070 costs almost as much to build and they recognized that the market isn't looking to pay double or triple as much to change the 1 to a 2. So they put the new processor at a similar, mabye slightly less expensive price, price less powerful cards much lower, and the 1070 just doesn't have a good spot to fill in terms of price/performance anymore.

Looks good with some customization (SSD and CPU/GPU upgrades) but note the ship date shows as 09/04/2020 for any configuration.

Comes out to be $859 with the RTX 2060 and Wi-Fi 6 upgrade. I might just return my 1660Ti from Best Buy for this one.

Yes, but to get the same 144hz/300nit display costs an additional $90. So, it's more like $950. best buy deal also had the SSD upgrade, which is another $90. So you're looking at $290 in upgrades to have the same notebook with the 2060 graphics.

Depends if you prefer a better CPU (this laptop) or a better GPU (the one you posted). But I agree, I like the deal you posted better.

It makes no sense, this is priced high enough that you have choices of other laptops with better value specs for the price.. imo this is too high for what it is already..
